I'm sorry that this was your experience on MCNR. As a mostly peaceful player myself, I agree that this is highly discouraging.
Unfortunately, we do have a problem with crime in this state of San Andreas, and it is a core part of the gaming experience Mike's Cops N' Robbers seeks to deliver.
And of course, some players just don't care that you're a newcomer either and tend to disrupt these peaceful activities just for shits & giggles.
Luckily, we have systems in place that enable you to stand up to such players.
First and foremost, we recommend opening a bank account at any of the 7 banks around the state, which can be located using /gps bank. Deposit all your hard-earned money into your account and set up a PIN for your debit card; that way, you'll be able to use any of the numerous ATM's found in most public places. To locate the one closest to you at any given time, you can use /gps atm.
To keep your hard-earned cash safe, try to deposit your revenue as soon as possible and be wary of any players around you that aren't:
- 🚓 law enforcement (different shades of blue),
- ✪ military (different shades of dark green),
- ⚕️ paramedics (different shades of violet),
- or 🚒 firefighters (different shades of brown).
These are the players to be wary of:
- criminals (yellow, different shades of orange, and red): self-explanatory. These are most likely a threat!
- 👠 sex workers and 🔧 mechanics: they can still commit crimes!
- civilians: sometimes they are just criminals who have temporarily stayed in hiding!
Your savings will even be boosted with a small interest payment each financial cycle when you have less than $2M on your account. To learn more about your current financial situation, use /tax ingame.
You can also choose to fish out at sea to minimize your chances of being preyed upon by criminals. Fishing is possible with any boat just as well as from land. You can buy a boat at any of the three jetties (/gps boat)
If you want to have an additional level of protection against muggers, you can opt to get a chance at a firefight with them.
This will require:
- armor (think of investing in a kevlar vest for extra protection!),
- a gun license,
- and some time dedicated to fire training.
at your closest Ammu-Nation (/gps ammu).
There, you can train to master all weapons available. Once you're proficient enough, you will be able to wield two of some of those, including Uzi submachine guns and sawn-off shotguns, which are popular with criminals here.
Sometimes, they attack in groups. It is therefore essential to find allies here that can help defend against them, retrieve your money if it's already been taken, or exact revenge if it's already lost. You can begin by looking at players who do not have any clan tags in their nicknames. Some of them are really chill and have a sense of justice and dignity.
⚠️ IMPORTANT: If players choose to attack you with their weapons first with no prior interaction or even if you don't fight back after being mugged, they are in violation of server rules concerning random deathmatch. For us to be able to restore justice, we recommend recording your gameplay with any of the screen recorders found online that can provide you with a recording of 30 minutes of gameplay prior to your request. This way, you'll be able to prove that no interaction occurred, and the players will be punished.
