Drop Weapons Order

I would like to suggest a rule/mechanic for situations where a cop has an arrestable suspect at gunpoint.

How it would work

  • A cop can order an arrestable suspect to drop all weapons.

  • The suspect then has 10 seconds to comply.

  • If they comply, all of their weapons are dropped.

  • If they do not comply within 10 seconds, or if they drop the weapons and immediately pick them back up, they receive Threat status.

  • If a dropped weapon is picked up by a cop, it is sent to the evidence locker.

Reasoning
Right now, a lot of cophunters abuse these situations in a very unrealistic and unfair way. They bait cops into going for a risky taze, force them into a vulnerable position, or run around waiting for the perfect moment to instantly pull sawn-offs into the cop’s face. It looks ridiculous and turns the interaction into cheap baiting instead of proper roleplay or fair gameplay.
This would make these encounters more logical and more balanced:

  • Suspects get a fair chance to comply.

  • Cops are not forced into awkward, unrealistic close-range bait situations.

  • Players who fake compliance by dropping weapons and instantly picking them back up can be punished properly with Threat status.

Overall, this would improve cop vs suspect interactions and reduce silly tactics.
I totally understand your point here! This suggestion is not like 100% efficient to counter that goofy non-threat endless chase or bait situations but a work around this idea can be done to create a better experience.

The idea and motive behind this suggestion is good.
Makes a lot of sense.
