Hello everyone,
I play on a low end laptop ( 8 Ram - AMD A9620p ) and I’m struggling during fights. My FPS is usually 32–47 on highest resolution and can go up to ~60 FPS on lower resolutions when I’m doing robberies, driving around, or other activities.
But during fights, my FPS drops to around 25–35, with some stuttering, which makes me feel disadvantaged and causes me to lose fights easily.
Are there any tips, settings, or tricks that could help me get a stable ~40 FPS during fights without lowering the resolution too much?
Thanks in advance!
Sup!
- Frame limiter off
- Anti-aliasing off
- Vusial FX quality low
- Lower the draw distance.
- Resolution - native to monitor, but might go lower if it helps, tho i don't recommend it.
- Delete antivirus, they never help with anything anyway and drain too much or pc's resources.
- Turn off page file (google how to do it, it's simple). Gonna prevent your pc from using HDD as RAM, might speed up your machine a little.
- Don't keep browsers or any other demanding apps running while playing
- Check your driver settings and set 3D render approach to High performance, over quality
- Power management of your pc might also be changed from balanced to high performance, especially if u are using a laptop.
PS:
- MSI afterburner for a little overclock of your GPU
- Bios CPU overclocking for 0.1-0.5 ghz might boost performance too
- Disable windows aero theme, if running Win7 or above. Drains performance on low end machines too
- Disable Cortana in windows settings
PPS:
- Open task manager after u run the game and set priority of gta_sa process to high. Gonna allocate more resources to the game.
PPPS:
- I've heard people saying that dropping audio volume to 0 boost the performance quite a bit. But ye... playing without sound might be a bit troublesome.
Hope this helps.

never give anyone advice ever again. in order to maximise fps you need to use the shittiest possible resolution you can actually play at.
Try fighting with the sound off and see if it improves your fps, go to gta menu and turn the volume all way down

GTA SA relies primarily on the CPU, and it focuses on the CPU first. If that is insufficient performance, it also considers the gpu. However, the key point is that performance depends on several factors. There are some tweaks that can help
