Coastguard Boost

I feel like water is an afterthought for the police force right now, most of them don't even bother to chase in water with how the rules encourage sniping from land.

To the contrary, cops should be encouraged to use Police Predators more. The recent addition of coastguard voice lines is a step in the right direction, but I've thought of a couple additional things:

  • the ability to spawn them like we already can the Police Maverick;

  • having the "911 calls" job event cater specifically to aquatic crimes if the responding cop is in a boat ("fishing without a license"? "illegal boat racing"? "piracy" or whatever the sea equivalent of carjacking would qualify as?);

  • having an entirely new "Harbor Patrol" job event where the cop would get tasked to take a circular patrol route around the current city for a reward. It wouldn't be timed so they could be able to provide backup to landborne pursuits in the case someone decided to escape by sea, and would only end with the cop's death, destruction of the Predator, or the successful passage of all successive checkpoints. In this case, the general permission for cops to gun down non-threat suspects in water can be waived in favor of a requirement to call backup or pursue by themselves (which is much easier and more rewarding than a takedown anyway). The mission seems fairly easy to script actually...

I'll add Predator to /jv now as it only takes a minute. The rest, I think is too RP for MCNR>

Okay, I get the hesitation about the third one, which can entail a major rule change.

But surely a slightly different list of crimes & crime locations can't be too RP or too complicated to tweak? Even I can help log the new coordinates... Will take an hour tops depending on how much variety is needed.

I have to weigh up how many players I think will use a feature. Most people don't use boats often, and I guarantee you that nobody will ever do the 911 response event in a boat. People probably already barely do it on land. It's just not worth the time to add. It's not as simple as just changing some coordinates. It's set up to use spawnpoints data.
