The suggestion will be divided in two parts, one regarding new players, and another one regarding normal/old players
Basically MCNR is doomed due to It's own self complex of "It'll be better soon, yk new updates and shit It's gonna be so fun" which leads to actually anger from players, and other stuff, It's mainly cause there's conflict between Mike's interests and playerbase's (Mike doesn't like something cool and playerbase has to suffer)
People in general are fed up with radio silence regarding stuff which they're really waiting for (Heists update, crew update, business stuff and other cool features people are waiting for). None of this was added, people are literally laughing at you Mike for adding stuff like campfires which does benefit >0.5% of server's population (who will use It only once), you're trying to make the game roleplay hangout whilst that's not what the playerbase wants, you need to bite the bullet and do something or you'll have only Freaked with 500k score playing.
New Players
Put them on leash at some point, make the tutorial more interactive ex. You leave at airport > You have to get into a taxi which takes you to for example ammunation, where you can get your first pistol then you're forced to do one weapon training (With this one I'll get to later) > Further going into core game mechanics/places
Free care package for people who haven't logged on for 6+ months since the data reset (LVL 50 and 250k cash with a few vehicle credits and basic supply drop utensils (Weapons, Medkits))
Free personal vehicle from lvl 0 (It'd be out of a poll of cheap civilian vehicles like Tahoma, Previon, Willard
As for gun range, make one training give 25% of weapon skill, going into the shooting range back and forth is tedious and discouraging, then you have anomalies like a guy with 100 lvl trying to kill someone whilst he has 0% weapon skill (He doesn't hit shit) People will see It's quick to do and helps a lot, and will do It. Simple! And your argument that "You have to do It once" collides with the fact that people give up easily nowadays and have no attention pan
More rewarding missions, I came back and I did mailer with AOTW reward (50 score and 5k cash afaik), I got only around 80 score from the activity which takes around 8 minutes and I had to wait another 15 minutes and do shitty jobs which give me like 30 score, that does not serve anything, I could just do anything else, ex fish to lvl 30, get AK and kill cops. Missions are not encouraging at all, they should give 2.5x more score/cash (Yes Mike hates money and "fast" progress but slow progress in a decaying game is what drives away new players. It's more pleasing to see yourself get like 100-150 xp from such simple job that'd be very encouraging for new players cause their mind would think "Progression is not that hard and boring I can do It!"
Basically with the way playerbase works nowadays allow faster and clear progression I'd rather see a shit player have lvl 70-80 max trained weapons and stand a basic chance against JohnCena2009 who has somewhat DM skills without feeling like "WOW MY AK IS SO SHITTY ABDHAWJIGFHAH"
Ik It's mainly DM reliant but that's what your playerbase is about
Other players :
Focus on entertaining your fucking community, not adding minuscule changes without ensuring people want It or not, you're creating envoirnment where people are distrustful of you, and simply give up any hope and go away, that's what causes boredom. Lack of innovation and blunder
Care package could bring back a lot of players who are valuable to the community, cause they wouldn't have to go through same boring and tedious routine of getting to lvl 100. (For example they can get a banshee, become a cop and not feel as pushed back)
3rd option - Ralsei's nuclear theory
Mike is probably losing money and a lot of nerves from hosting the server, with peace and understanding we can prepare for server shutdown, there's no need to upkeep the server just for the sake of 20 players who aren't grateful and give nothing from themselves, good communication and reasonable approach can prepare us for the server closure If that's necessary.
Thanks, this is a suggestion or rather a precaution how to lead your project otherwise It'll end up being irrelevant (It already is but bigger irrelevancy leads to bigger ignorance and in the end death).
Handbook for Mike how to make MCNR players happy and maintain the server somewhat populated and playable.
Speak out your mind don't just +1, share your honest thought even If Mike won't care, feels like MCNR will shut down in 2025 with how things go
If you love something set it free. Mike I'm sure you don't enjoy working on the server and don't want to dissapoint the playerbase with shutting down, we're fine with server going we had our fun there's no point in shifting into insanity even further
Good luck trying to change this server in a community where 95% of people don't even know what the fuck is going on, and keep playing like nothing is going on.
Honestly, I think it's best that Mike shuts this server down. I'm pretty sure he's losing money off of server hosting. (especially when the player count is so low to the point where you have to ask yourself: why even bother?)
>gets no unban for months until Christmas pardon, immediately posts straight facts. Fucking terrific, Ralsei! Hats off to you.
Here's 101 how to run a server (from co-owning gmod server for a year): 1. play it at least few times a week to keep yourself in touch with playerbase 2. profit
Mike is (and was for last 2 years) focused on minor additions which are not beneficial to playerbase which was used to run&gun type of gamemode. Original idea of rob-run-shoot was working back in the day. If it was expanded properly both in scale and quality, it would have been still enjoyable. But instead we had a lot of complex addons like side missions, activities which targetted around 20% of previous playerbase. If people wanted roleplay stuff, they would have asked for second server or simply more roleplay-based server. Instead Mike slapped that idea onto existing CnR.
Add lazy and not-caring people in charge to it and here we are, 15 players on average. Should I remind you of when people considered constistent 40 players daily a low number...?
tl;dr major fuck up. Fixing, as in general way, is too late.
Actually Mike needs to hire more developers I believe to atleast increase the time rate of delivering features (not small features just like Ralsei suggested)
Also it's good time to remove some toxicity as well as we have many members that keep spamming forums and making dramas, it's time to bring more positive efforts to the community.
it’s tough to keep things going. Mike is doing his best to run this server, and we shouldn’t just tell him to shut it down. 🙄
Forex teaches patience you can wait 4 hours just to lose your money lol,,,but dont give up We learn, we adjust, we try again. No rush, the market always comes back. As we say we move,We blow, we learn, we grow,,Money,,Does Not Cure Poverty Mentality, The Ability & The Know How To Make Money Cures Poverty.. Once You've Mastered How To Make Money You Need Money Management Skills. Remember Money Management Skills Are More Important Than Making Money. Aileme dokunma, tsunami gibi döneriz <--->
Apparently this is wat you notice after returning and playing for a few days. Great explanation, stating the (to my own view) obvious but very well set up point by point.
I do however not agree with the shutting down part, there still remains the 'join if you want, stay away if you please' principle.
There for I think +1, without the shutting down part. +1 for fucking this fucking fuck of a fucking cops VS robbers instead of Cops and Robbers principle.
Also huge gigantic +1 for expanding the property market by either adding more properties or making the existing ones change owners from time to time. Prop market is as dead as a tree legged horse, it needs revival. There's NOTHING to do with money you make, meaning you dont make money, meaning you dont truck, plant weed, rob banks etc. etc. All together, we can conclude the CNR principle needs a booster, senseless cops VS robbers needs a little cutting, returning/new players could indeed use carepackages and a start of level 50 (huge suggestion), so then we can relax and play with more people, making sure there remains variety.
I do think everyone has different suggestions as to how to increase playercount, increase fun on the server etc. But we will need to make sort of a collective plan with the main requests. Lets keep this one running, @staff!
