It may have been a bug where you simply couldn't see it but then you got close enough for it to detect you picking it up.

no clue really but i can assure you the clue was inside the wall, molly can vouch for me

nope, it was inside the wall, we encountered it really randomly

It's simply impossible for it to be put in the wrong place. Very strange.

Found the issue while fixing a related bug in a different script.

The way the coordinates are read from the file was fucked. Fixed in the next update.
