Re: Staff Guide 2.0

Forum responsibilities

Reviewing player reports (complaints)

http://
This section is located here. Apart from actually dealing with reports, the only thing you need to know is how to operate threads on the forums. Once you’ve responded, all you have left to do is:

1. Lock the report
Click the 🔒 icon and confirm the action.
2. Move the report to the Resolved Complaints section
Press the ➡️ icon, select the Resolved Complaints section and confirm the action.

Reviewing punishment appeals

General idea behind appeals is:
Moderators can only accept an appeal if they issued the punishment.
Admins and above can only accept an appeal if the punishment was issued by themselves or a lower ranked staff member.
Admins and above can only reject a ban appeal if the ban was issued by a lower ranked member of staff. Otherwise, the appeal must be escalated to a higher ranked member of staff.
If a player isn't happy with the outcome of their ban appeal, they can ask for it to be reviewed by a higher ranked member of staff, or the Operations Manager.
The Operations Manager has the final say in all appeals.

If you accept an appeal, Lock and Move it to an according section.
If you wish not to accept an appeal, ask higher ranking staff to review it and make a decision.

Miscellaneous tasks

http://
Other things you need to do on the forums are:

  • changing profile names in the Help and Support section. Requests are posted here.

  • adding crew tags to the players according to requests in the Crews section. Requests are posted here.

  • responding to any questions in the Help and Support section.

  • submitting ban extend requests in Moderators and Admins section. Requests are posted here.

Discord responsibilities

Punishing rulebreakers

All rules are located in #info-and-rules channel. The most used command will be /tempmute . Sometimes a simple warning will be enough, don’t forget that.

Assisting players

http://
Like in-game, players can create threads in #help-forum channel. Once you answer their question, you need to put a specific tag on the thread and close it, either RESOLVED or CLOSED. More in-depth guide can be found here.

Interacting with the staff team

Depending on your rank, you’ll be able to see different staff channels.
This is where staff talk to each other. Keep in mind, you’ve signed an NDA, so nothing out of these chats are for public eyes!
Check them regularly to be up-to-date with rule changes, staff announcements and assigned tasks.
