Rejected Suggestions / Ability to heal yourself from Disease and Poison.

The title says it all, I've had this idea for a long time, I just didn't want to add more to mikes plate which he is working very hard to implement to the server, but I think this one should be very easy.
If you're fishing and you catch food poisoning or you've caught aids from a prostitute, then players be able to cure it with a limit. Having Painkillers, or Panadol to cure ones disease, or has a chance to not have any effects, which wil require you to go to the hospital or call for a medic. The Pain killers and Panadol can also be obtained in the 24/7 stores, and could have a chance of stealing one or the other while robbing the store.
Tell me what you guys think? would this be a good option for players to have along side 2 medkits they can carry? or will this tip the scale of balance and just make medics slightly not useful?
