Happy New Year - 2025 Happy New Year everyone!
The Christmas Event 2024 has now ended, stats and details here:
https://mikescnr.com/blog/end-xmas-2024Year Review2024 has been a good year for MCNR. We saw The Great Reset in January where everyone's stats were reset, which I think was beneficial in the long term. Version 2.1 was the biggest update in 2024, released in August, and added/improved a bunch of stuff, including a revamp of the bank robbery, the addition of Warehouse Robbery, Bonus Vehicle event, Commendation system and more.
Admittedly, 2024 hasn't been a year of lots of major updates; it's very difficult to find the time and energy required for this. I'm working with a 10+ year old code base which is admittedly horrific to work with. Adding/changing things is a lot more difficult than it should be, and it's my own fault. I have spent a lot of time in 2024 actually rewriting swathes of the MCNR code base because they were impossible to work with. For example, I've completely rewritten the help system from the ground up. If I would rewrite the entire MCNR code base from scratch I would - it would make adding new content and maintaining existing systems a lot easier!

Community ThanksI'd like to thank all of the MCNR community, simply for existing. I've said this before, but when I was working on MCNR pre-release I was doubtful that anyone would be interested, as it was late in the SA-MP life cycle (2019), but I was wrong. It's very humbling even just to see a small group of people on the server sometimes - I'm glad you're choosing to spend your free time playing MCNR, it's what makes creating it rewarding for me!
Also thank you to everyone that has posted suggestions and reported issues on the forums - I check these very often and always want feedback on how we can improve.
Staff ThanksA massive thank you to all staff - past and present - for their voluntary help in keeping MCNR running year-on-year. They are vital to MCNR's operations.
Special MentionsI'd like to take this opportunity to thank someone that has had a big impact in my life - Crazybob. Crazybob's Cops and Robbers is _THE_ definitive Cops and Robbers server on SA-MP. It's what began it all for me. Without CBCNR, MCNR would not exist. MCNR will continue to honour the legacy that Crazybob leaves now that CBCNR is closing down. Thank you for hours and hours of fun and excitement!
The second person I'd like to give a massive thanks to (again) is Karbz - he's done so much for me and MCNR and I can't thank him enough. He's on the same wavelength as me most of the time, and it's great to know I can trust him to make the right decisions for me and the server and its community.
The Future of MCNRLooking ahead to 2025, I really want to put in more time and effort to get some fun and engaging new content for MCNR. I have many ideas - some still just in my head, and others already in progress.
I'll have a bit of help from Goldenboy and ChrisAg and my hope is that Goldenboy can focus on bugs and QoL improvements, ChrisAg can brew up some cool shit, and I can try and work on major new additions.
FPS CapOn a final note, many people will be happy to learn that the FPS cap has been increased to 145fps.
I understand many people have a 144hz monitor they want to take full advantage of, and hope they will appreciate this.
Hope everyone is doing well and wishing you all a fantastic 2025!
