Can't repair Bullet if it has a trunk door

So if I want to repair Bullet, I have to basically use 2 repair kits because I get attacked by the detached trunk door every time when i use the first kit. 0:40 in the video:

I'd say this might belong in the bug reports section? No idea what can be done for prevention though
