Title: Counterfeiting
Post by: WAP on February 01, 2024, 01:44:18 pm
Inspired by Jex's suggestion here (https://mikescnr.com/forum/index.php/topic,19473.msg93821.html)

Counterfeit currency:
1. A corrupt employee (NPC) at that gated location in SF (marked in red here I forgot what the place is called: https://i.imgur.com/tS0NWSq.png) could sell you blank notes and high-security printing ink.
2. To obtain the printer - you either steal it from the location (like a heist) or alternatively Zero's RC could be the seller of the printer. He makes RC vehicles with weapons, so it's not much of a stretch that he'd be involved in some dodgy shit that requires some good electronics/engineering skills.
3. The printer would have to be placed in your property. If police enter your property whilst you have the printer set up = it can be seized.
4. Once the currency has been created (takes time, like growing weed), you need to take the money to the bank and deposit it. There is a perecentage (https://mikescnr.com/forum/index.php/topic,19519.0.html) that the money you are depositing is detected as a forgery by the teller. This chance increases as you attempt to deposit a greater amount of counterfeit currency.

Counterfeit casino chips:
1. Obtain a list of serial numbers from a corrupted staff member (NPC) at a casino - they could be corrupted through coercion/intimidation/bribery. Alternatively, a list of serial numbers could be obtained through 'hacking' said casino.
2. Plastics and injection moulds could be purchased from any of the industrial estates around SA.
3. Counterfeit casino chips can be used on games that use chips, such as blackjack and roulette. The chance of being detected increases as players use more counterfeit chips.

Side ideas:
/clothing and changing skin could be used as a 'disguise' to attempt avoiding detection on further visits
