GTA San Andreas mods / Dwayne Island on the map radar
« on: October 17, 2021, 11:35:00 am »
I just thought of creating this for the crazy enough people that want to have the island on their maps. It is not going to be used at all but why not just create this lol. Currently it may not be 100% accurate on the position but I think this is a good start and I might edit at a later time.

Use TXD Workshop or any other TXD editor you may have to replace those 3 files located in models\gta3.img

It looks best if you have the following HD radar mod at https://www.gtagarage.com/mods/show.php?id=9182 but I also included the default resolution map which looks like a pixelated mess. If you have another radar mod don't use it.

Rockstar Games announced that we will be getting an updated version of GTA 3, GTA Vice City and GTA San Andreas "soon". They will be available to all current generation platforms including PlayStation 5 and 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC and later Android and iOS. This version will feature among others graphical improvements and modern gameplay enhancements for all three games, as stated in their post.

We don't have any official gameplay footage or other media other than the below video of the announcement, but hopefully we will get something in the following weeks.
This was something that was talked and rumored a lot the past months and it's great to see that we finally got an official announcement from Rockstar themselves.

What do you think this edition of the three legendary GTA games will look like on release?

Implemented Suggestions / [MAPPING] Island-Prison
« on: August 11, 2021, 09:47:04 am »
Hi, I just thought of this suggestion. I did a quick search on the boards but didn't find anything relevant to it, so sorry if this is already mentioned somewhere.

First of all, I myself going to be neutral with this as I don't know how much custom mapping are the devs willing to add currently.

Basically, the idea is that there will be a rather small island that will be operating as a prison (similar to Alcatraz) for most wanted players when arrested (if possible could be tweaked to apply to players who have committed a rather high number of crimes and not just every most wanted player). It needs to be mapped optimally with minimal fps hit. The location of it, in my opinion, could be either somewhere where it is equally close to the three cities (LS, LV, SF), which is the best option if we decide to include this, or we have three islands (or only one and we move it around closer to the active city) where only each one will get loaded when the city rotation happens. The transportation to and off it will only be by helicopters and boats but could also add a checkpoint of some sort into the island for released prisoners and be transported automatically back in the active city's police department.

What makes this a nice addition? Well, first and foremost we get to have something unique mapped into the server. It will also be a great and fun way for players to try breaking out their friends and make for a memorable escape. Though it could be harder for officers to bail out someone as they will be far. Additionally, various missions and jobs can also take place there for the police and civilians/criminals in order to make the area more active. NPCs can also be added that will take the role of guards (?) shooting down unwanted visitors and escapers only after giving them a warning, but I'm not so sure about that.

What could make it look like a bad idea? It is a big suggestion that could require many resources for it to be made and possibly could face some difficulties during development.

PS: I could also contribute to mapping in general if and when needed.

Let me know your opinion on this. Thank you for your time.
