As with any cops and robbers server, MCNR revolves around the classic GTA experience of cops chasing criminals.
Players can work with or against each other as cops, robbers or law-abiding citizens to earn money,
complete various missions and activities, and ultimately work their way to the top.

One of the main roles on Mike's Cops and Robbers is the role of a Police officer.
As a Cop, you will be tasked with maintaining a safe environment for the citizens of San Andreas,
by patrolling the cities of Los Santos, San Fierro and Las Venturas and pursuing and detaining wanted suspects.
You will earn money and score points for doing your job, and as you arrest and ticket more suspects, you will be promoted.
The higher your rank, the more money you can earn, and the more police abilities you will have access to (such as calling for special vehicles).

See the law enforcement guide for more information on law enforcement roles.

On the other hand, there are criminals. Criminals only know one way to earn money - by stealing it.
From selling stolen cars to smuggling drugs across the border, there's always some way for a criminal to get ahead.
Of course, the cops are always around the corner looking to take you down, so you have to know how to evade the law.
There's no better way to evade the cops than with your very own modded up supercar, but that's going to take more than robbing a few gas stations to get.
You're going to need to think big to make it in San Andreas and climb your way up the criminal ladder.

See the crime guide for more information on crimes.

There is, however, a third option. You could be a law-abiding citizen of San Andreas.
This would mean you'd have to find other, less risky ways to earn money, for example by sweeping the streets or collecting garbage.
You could also apply for a job, for example as a Mechanic or a Firefighter.
While the income might not be as great, you'll hopefully never have a run-in with the law
if you just mind your own business and go about your life.

See the missions guide for more information on missions and side-jobs.

There are many jobs that you can do in San Andreas. Jobs pay you for performing your duties and can be a steady income
with next to no risk involved. Jobs include police officer, paramedic, firefighter, mechanic, prostitute and taxi driver.

See the jobs guide for more information on jobs.

Job events

Introduction
Sometimes San Andreas is a little too quiet. When there isn't enough action, you can choose to respond to job events. These events are announced twice daily, both before and after 12 noon. Currently you will need to be on-duty as a police officer, medic or firefighter for job events. Mechanics, prostitutes and taxi drivers will be getting events in a future update.

Job events will be announced in chat. You must type /respond to accept them. You may need to be in a job vehicle to accept for certain events.

Law enforcement

Introduction
Playing as a police officer is the most important role in any Cops and Robbers game, and Mike's Cops and Robbers is no different. Cops play a vital part in maintaining the peaceful environment that San Andreas is known for. Well at least they try; vehicle theft and gang crime is at an all-time high and the San Andreas Police Department and its many divisions are tasked with catching criminals and preventing crime.

Becoming a police officer
Before applying to become a police officer, there are a few prerequisites. Firstly, you must reach level 50 as a civilian. This shows basic knowledge and understanding of the server and ensures new and potentially destructive players are not able to abuse the powers of being a police officer. Secondly, you must obtain a weapon license from any Ammunation. You must complete one round in the shooting range with any weapon before being able to purchase a weapon licence.

Once you are level 50 and have a weapon licence, visit any San Andreas police department to apply to become a police officer.

Police Department locations
There are 7 police departments spread around San Andreas (3 city and 4 countryside).
They are represented on the radar and map by this icon:

Los Santos Police Department (LSPD)
Pershing Square, Los Santos

San Fierro Police Department (SFPD)
Downtown, San Fierro

Las Venturas Police Department
Roca Escalante, Las Venturas

Dillimore Police Department
Dillimore, Los Santos

Angel Pine Sheriff
Angel Pine, San Fierro

Fort Carson Sheriff
Fort Carson, Las Venturas

El Quebrados Sheriff
El Quebrados, Las Venturas

Police rules
With power comes responsibility. Police officers must follow the police rules at all times or risk demotion or dismissal.

- Do not attack innocent players or ticketable suspects except in self defence.
- Do not impede or obstruct other players from playing the game such as by blocking access to areas unless in order to apprehend a suspect.

You can view the police rules at any time in-game with /policerules.
Players that repeatedly fail to follow these rules will be barred from playing as a police officer.

Identifying criminals
A player's criminal status can be identified by the color of their name and blip.
Color   Wanted stars   Meaning   Action
White0InnocentDo not attack innocent civilians except in self-defence.
Yellow1Minor offenderIssue a ticket and take payment. Do not attack minor offenders except in self-defence.
Orange2-5FelonWarrant for arrest issued. Lethal force to be used as a last resort only.
Red6Most WantedAlways try to arrest most wanted suspects. Killing is a last resort and only if they are a threat Choose the safer option in the situation encountered.

What counts as a dangerous/threatening suspect?

A threatening suspect can do one of several actions that should be considered a hostile intention and you will be cleared to neutralize them. These include the following.
  • Raised guns towards another person or officer
  • Recently killed another player in the current life
  • Is with a group of other players that are a serious threat to public safety (IE. Group of Most Wanted or players that have killed other people recently)
  • Is actively attempting to run over officers or other pedestrians with their vehicle to facilitate the murder of the police or civilians or to aid the escape of another suspect.

Suspect visibility
- The higher a suspect's wanted level, the further away their blip can be seen by cops.
- Suspects in emergency, military or air vehicles will have a blip visible from anywhere (radar/GPS tracking).
- Most wanted suspects will also attract bounty hunters and their blip has an increased visibility distance for other civilians also.
- Any suspect in the sight of a cop will also have their blip shown to all other cops regardless of their distance.
- Suspects cannot evade police while in a restricted area (e.g. a police department) or inside any interior. Suspects inside an interior will not have a visible blip on the radar.

Tickets
Suspects with yellow names should be issued tickets. Approach the suspect on-foot (they can be on-foot or in a vehicle) and press N to issue a ticket. The suspect will be given 1 minute to pay their ticket, after which they will become a felon and should be arrested. Minor suspects should only be attacked in self-defence. Sometimes force may be required to get a suspect to pay their ticket. Popping vehicle tires with a spike strip to bring a suspect to a stop is an example of authorised force.

Arresting
Suspects with an orange blip/name are felons and have a warrant issued for their arrest. To arrest a felon suspect, you must be within 10 meters of them and both be on-foot. Use the N key or the /arrest (/ar) command.

You can use the N key to handcuff a stationary suspect. Otherwise, if the suspect is moving, the N key will instead equip the tazer, once you taze them, cuff them by approaching their back and pressing N once again. Once a suspect is cuffed, you can double tap N to arrest them on the spot and they will be transported to jail. Alternatively the suspect can be placed into the back of a vehicle and transported to any police department by yourself. The officer will receive a transport bonus and the criminal will receive a compliance bonus of reduced bail costs and lower jail time. To deliver criminals to jail, drive down into the police compound and drive into the large red checkpoint.

Most wanted
Most wanted suspects have a red blip/name and are thought to be armed and dangerous. Caution should be taken when dealing with these suspects. Most wanted suspects can be arrested or killed (taken down). Choose the safer option in the situation encountered. Bear in mind that vigilante bounty hunters will also be coming to kill most wanted suspects.

It is advisable to follow these guidelines when planning to take down a most wanted suspect (or any dangerous suspect):
- Have sufficient weapons and ammo in case the need to use force arises.
- Have backup both on the ground and in the air. Having colleagues in your vehicle to perform drive-by shootings will drastically increase the chance of a successful takedown.
- Clearly communicate with colleagues regarding tactics and situational reports.
- Have a good knowledge of routes around San Andreas to attempt to intercept suspects. Getting ahead of a suspect and placing a spike strip will render their vehicle useless and bring them to a stop.

TIP
Press N on-foot or the SUBMISSION (2) key in a vehicle to shout orders to suspects. This includes pull over, freeze and exit the vehicle. These orders have a small cooldown between uses and are randomized.

Police officer XP and rank
During your time as a police officer, you will earn XP as you perform your job duties, such as arresting suspects. Different actions reward you with different amounts of XP, for example you get more XP for an arrest than for issuing a ticket.

You will begin your time as a police officer at rank 1. Throughout the process of gaining XP, you will be promoted to the next rank as you reach certain XP milestones. While performing your duties, you will continue to rise up through the ranks at regular intervals, all the way up to the maximum rank of 10. Ranking up will allow you to unlock new abilities, such as calling for vehicles, and receive access to additional resources, such as increased numbers of spike strips and roadblocks. However, keep in mind that you may be demoted back down through the ranks if you fail to properly follow the police rules at any time. This will also involve losing any abilities you may have unlocked as part of those ranks."

Payday
As a police officer, perform job duties (ticket/arrest suspects etc.) to accrue payday credits. Payday checks are issued every 72 in-game hours and are automatically credited to your account. See /payday to find out when your next paycheck is due.

Bribery
Not all cops are corrupt, however, if you fancy earning a bit of extra cash, accepting a bribe or two from a criminal is one way you may wish to go about it. Bribes can be offered from a suspect to a cop or a cop can offer a bribe opportunity to a suspect. Accepting a bribe will remove a suspect's wanted level or reduce their bail/sentence in jail. Rejecting a bribe will be counted as an attempted bribery crime.

Job events
Cops and other roles are offered random 'job events' twice daily (pre and post-noon) which can be completed for cash, score and XP. These job events are generally NPC-based and give players more to do in addition to playing with other players.

See this topic for a list of job events and guides to them.

Police department reception and locker room
Visit any police department reception to:
- View a list of wanted suspects and locations
- View a list of stolen vehicles and last seen locations.
- View a list of jailed players.
- View recent crimes committed.
- Release criminals from jail.
- Go on or off duty or apply to be a cop in the first place.

Visit any police department locker room to:
- Change clothes/skin
- Go off-duty
- Replenish health & armour
- Purchase weapons & ammo
- Purchase equipment such as pepper spray and night sticks

Police officer abilities
Police officers have several abilities open to the to aid them in their job.

Request a vehicle
A range of police vehicles can be requested from the 'Police officer abilities' option on the interaction menu (hold Y to open interaction menu). These vehicles include patrol car, police bike, enforcer, police ranger and an undercover unit.

Request backup
Request backup by typing /backup (/bk) or through the interaction menu. Backup can also be requested via a payphone.

Spike strips
Spike strips can be used to bring fleeing suspects to a halt. The number of spike strips a police officer can have deployed at any given time is directly dependant upon their rank. For example a police officer of rank 7 can have 7 spike strips deployed at the same time.

To place a spike strip from a vehicle, hold Q+E to look behind then press FIRE (LMB).
To place a spike strip on-foot type /spike or find it in the 'Police officer abilities' section of the interaction menu.
To remove the nearest spike strip, type /rspike.
To remove all your deployed spike strips, type '/rspike all'.
To remove spike strips within a defined radius from your position type '/rspike [distance]' with the distance in meters. For example type '/rspike 50' to remove spike strips within 50 meters.

Roadblocks, barriers and signs
Police officers can place a range of roadblocks, barriers and signs to help catch criminals and also to warn road users of hazards. Type /roadblock (/rb) to place roadblock objects.
Use /rblock to remove roadblocks using the same range of methods as for removing spike strips (nearest/all/distance). See above for more details.

Important notice regarding Gangs/Crews

You must treat crew members like you would any other player. You CANNOT avoid chasing/arresting them as a cop.

Failure to comply will result in public service offences and eventually lead to dismissal from the police department (job ban)

Thank you
Thank you for reading this guide - hopefully it has helped you and you know things you didn't know before.

Crime and punishment

Crimes and wanted level
There are many different crimes which can be committed in San Andreas, from pickpocketing to bank robbery and grand theft auto to murder.

Wanted level
Each crime you commit will increase your wanted level. The more serious the crime, the more your wanted level will increase. Your wanted level is represented by 6 stars at the top of the screen which will vary in color depending on your wanted status.

The wanted level system works on a points system. These 'wanted points' are separate to your wanted level. Different crimes increase your wanted points by different amounts. Each wanted level requires more points than the last to be achieved. For example you need 5 wanted points to become wanted level 2 and 10 points to reach wanted level 3.

ColorWanted starsWanted pointsTime to evadeMeaningAction
White00-InnocentYou are not wanted by the police.
Yellow111:30Minor offenderCops will issue you with a ticket which you must pay.

Red6354:00Most wantedCops will arrest or kill most wanted suspects. They will choose the safer option in the situation encountered.

For example, if you commit the following crimes from being innocent:
Criminal damage - 1 wanted level point
Grand theft auto - 2 wanted level points
Drunk driving - 1 wanted level point
Shooting in public - 1 wanted level point

After committing all those crimes you will now have 5 wanted level points and therefore a wanted level of 2 stars.

NOTE: These values may change in the future.

Witnessed crimes
Certain crimes committed will only increase your wanted level if there are witnesses around. These include shooting in public and breaking into vehicles.

Stolen vehicles
Driving a stolen vehicle past any police officer will give you a wanted level. This can be circumvented by changing the licence plate at any gas station or via a mechanic (/mechanic).

Tickets
When you have a wanted level of 1 star (yellow stars/name) you will be issued tickets by the cops. Failing to pay a ticket will result in an instant wanted level of 2 for which you will be arrested.

Jail
If you are arrested you will be transported to a jail cell in the active city. You will have to serve a minimum sentence which is determined by your crime history, up to a maximum of 10 minutes. Once this time has elapsed you will be able to pay your bail costs. Bail costs are also dependant on your crime history up to a maximum of $10,000. If you cannot afford bail or would rather not spend the money, your bail will slowly decrease over time after your jail sentence has been served. Once your bail reached $0 you will be automatically released from jail.

Cell transfer
You can request to transfer to a different jail cell using the jail menu (press N). This might come in handy if you are being attacked. Note that this ability will be revoked if you attempt to break out of jail or if you recently attacked another player in jail.

Break-outs
You can attempt to break out of jail through the jail menu (press N). If successful you will receive a 6-star wanted level (most wanted) and have to escape the police department and get away. If you are unsuccessful your sentence and bail will be increased and you will be unable to transfer jail cells for some time.

Co-op breakouts are also an option. An outsider can visit the jail cells and offer to break you out of jail. Doing so will result in both players gaining a 6-star wanted level and you will both have to fight your way out of the police station and escape.

Evasion
When you have a wanted level, you can reduce it by staying away from the cops. The higher your wanted level is, the further away from the cops you need to be. Your radar blip visibility distance is increased the higher your wanted level, meaning you will have to be even further away to evade the cops.

Each wanted star takes more time to evade than the lower one, for example it takes 4 minutes to lose your 6th star and 1 minute 30 seconds to lose your first star. In total, to evade the cops and reduce your wanted level from 6 stars to 0 stars (innocent) will take 16 minutes and 30 seconds.

Bribery
If waiting so long to evade your wanted level is not for you, bribery is an option. Bribery pickups can be found scattered all around San Andreas (hint: alleyways) and will reduce your wanted level by 1 for $500 per star (e.g. if you have 3 stars it will cost 4 x $500 which is $2000 to remove your 4th star and become wanted level 3).

You can also directly bribe cops via the player interaction menu (look at a cop and press Y). If the cop accepts this you will become innocent. If the cop refuses, your wanted level will increase.

Bribery is also possible in jail. If a cop accepts a jail bribe your sentence and bail will be reduced and you may be released from jail. If a cop refuses a jail bribe your sentence and bail will increase.

Jobs

Introduction
Mike's Cops and Robbers offers a variety of different jobs that you can take which are sure to keep you busy. For those who prefer to work hard in their pursuit for cash, or simply wish for nothing more than to help make San Andreas a better place, one of these jobs may be the option for you.

Applying for a job is simple, and can be done at any one of the base locations for the respective job you wish to apply for, such as a police department to become a police officer. Some jobs have prerequisites before applying, but as long as you meet the requirements, you will get the job and be able to perform your duties. You can expect to build up cash at a good rate as long as you maintain a high working standard and complete tasks regularly.

Players that have jobs can be identified by the color of their name and radar blip. Players with a higher rank (only applicable to certain jobs) will have a darker shade of that color.

Going on and off duty
While you are working a particular job, you will be on-duty. You will be expected to do your job and follow the expected duties and standards for said job while on-duty, or else you may receive a demotion or be fired from your position.

If, at any time, you do not wish to be responsible for your job, you can return to a base location for that job to go off-duty. This does not mean you lose your job permanently - you will have the ability to go back on-duty whenever you like. Jobs do not follow any particular schedule, and so you can stay on-duty or off-duty as long as you want.

For taxi drivers, this system functions slightly differently - you can go on-duty by entering any taxi and hitting the sub-mission key (2 by default). You will go off-duty automatically whenever you exit the taxi, die, or become wanted by the police.

Job Skin
When you obtain a new job, you are given the opportunity to pick from a selection of skins to use when working that job (except taxi driver which is not a skin-based job). This skin is separate from the one you use as a civilian, and will be applied exclusively when you are on-duty at your job. Anytime you go off duty, you will return to your civilian skin - the skin you are currently using for your job will always be remembered so that it is automatically re-applied once you go back on-duty.

Important to keep in mind is how your job skin is affected once you switch jobs. If you decide to get a new job, the job skin you used for your old job will be forgotten, and your new job skin will be saved in its place. Therefore, you can only have one job skin saved at a time.

Job XP and rank
Completing job-relevant duties such as arresting criminals as a police officer or saving patients as a medic, will reward you with job XP. Each job has its own separate XP system, meaning XP earned from one job will not be shared with another. The amount of XP earned depends on the action. For example as a cop arresting a criminal will earn you more job XP than simply issuing a ticket.

Some jobs make use of a ranking system. For these jobs, you will start at rank 1. As you gain job XP, you will receive promotions to higher ranks upon reaching certain XP thresholds. Aside from earning a higher status in your field, promotions up the ranks come with multiple perks, such as the unlocking of new abilities and access to additional resources. Examples of these for a police officer could be the ability to call for vehicles or receiving additional spike strips. Higher ranks will also result in higher paychecks on paydays, which you can learn more about in the next section.

Keep in mind that there is always the possibility you may be demoted back down to lower ranks if you do your job poorly. This can include attacking innocent people as a police officer or attacking patients as a medic. You can get an indication of someone's current job rank by looking at their name and blip colour - darker shades indicate higher ranks, and lighter shades indicate lower ranks.

Jobs that currently feature this rank system are police officers, medics, and firefighters. However, it is planned for the system to be expanded to more jobs in the future.

Payday
Everything you do as part of your job is ultimately working towards that paycheck. Every 24 hours in-game (24 minutes in reality) you play for you will receive your payday check. However, the amount of cash rewarded to you as part of this payday is heavily dependent on the job duties you have completed since your last payday. Therefore, if you have done little to no work during that time, you can expect to make very little money.

The payday system works by accruing payday points over time, which essentially represent the amount of job XP you have earned since your last payday (see above for more info on job XP and how to earn it). The value of payday points differs depending on the job and the rank, as shown in the following table:

Job                    Value of Payday Points
Police Officer$8
Medic$6
Firefighter$4
Mechanic$2
Taxi Driver$1
Prostitute$0

These represent the base values of how much money each XP point is worth. For example, a police officer's payday point value is 8, meaning each XP point you earn is worth 8 dollars. However, this differs depending on rank. For each rank increase, the payday point value increases by 1. For example once a cop reaches rank 2 they will now get $9 per payday point.

If you need to know when your next payday is, you can type /payday to find out.

Police
The role of a police officer is one of the most crucial and most in-depth of all jobs in Mike's Cops and Robbers, and so jobs are always in high demand!

Prerequisites
In order to successfully apply for the position of a police officer, there are a couple of prerequisites:
- You must be at least a level 10 civilian.
- You must have obtained a weapon license, which can be purchased from any Ammu-Nation after completing a round in the shooting range.

Job Base
All police departments in San Andreas serve as a job base at which you can become a police officer. They also have other uses, including to replenish equipment such as weapons and armour, as well as perform other job-relevant activities such as viewing lists of recent crimes and wanted suspects. See the Law Enforcement guide for more details.

Name / Blip Color
Police officers can be identified by their BLUE name and blip. The darker the shade, the higher their rank.

Abilities and Equipment
Police officers have been provided with various abilities and equipment in order to assist with their duty to take care of all manners of criminals, from the minor offenders to the most wanted.

Abilities include:
- Ticketing minor offenders
- Handcuffing criminals
- Arresting criminals
- Tazing criminals

You can press the N key to use any of these abilities, dependent on the situation. If a suspect is moving, they will be tazed. If a suspect is stationary or being tazed, they will be cuffed. If a suspect is cuffed, they will be arrested and automatically transported to jail.

Generally, it is advised to make use of these options first, and only attempting to kill the suspect as a final resort. Helping bring a criminal to justice via any of these methods will reward you with job XP, which can eventually result in promotions to higher ranks as well as higher paydays.

When it comes to equipment, you will be provided with:
- A nightstick
- A pistol
- A shotgun
- Pepper spray

The Military
A unique additional feature of the police officer job is the ability to work your way all the way up to a position in the military. However, this comes only with lots of time, dedication, and work put into your job, as you need both a job rank of 10 as a cop and an overall level of 100 as a civilian in order to move up to the military, so it will certainly not be an easy position to attain.

Making your way up to this point comes with much prestige and some reduced restrictions, such as the ability to enter the Rustler and Seasparrow. Therefore, if you're interested in becoming a police officer, reaching a position in the army is an ideal goal to set your sights towards.

Finally, joining the military will also modify your base value for money earned per XP point (see above), and your name / blip color will become dark green. The darker the shade, the higher their rank.

More Information
This section only covers a fraction of the full details on the job of a police officer. Due to this and the importance of the role, a dedicated guide has been created just for this position, which you can read by clicking here.

Medic
The medics of San Andreas are always there to help the wounded and dying, no matter what!

Job Base
All hospitals in San Andreas serve as a job base at which you can become a medic.

Name / Blip Color
Medics can be identified by their Purple name and blip color. The darker the shade, the higher their rank.

Abilities
As a medic, there are a number of services you can offer to players in need, such as:
- Healing those with low health
- Curing diseases such as food poisoning or STDs
- A much higher success rate when attempting to revive players

Assisting players in any of these ways will reward you with job XP, which can eventually result in promotions to higher ranks as well as higher paydays. Higher ranks also have the added bonus for medics of further increased rates of success when attempting to revive players.

Firefighter
In San Andreas, there are dozens of fires every day, be they mere accidents or something more sinister. Whatever the case, firefighters can help reduce the negative effects of these incidents as much as possible.

Job Base
All fire departments in San Andreas serve as a job base at which you can become a firefighter.

Name / Blip Color
Firefighters can be identified by their Salmon name and blip color. The darker the shade, the higher their rank.

Abilities and Equipment
Firefighters have all of the same abilities and methods to earn job XP as medics, therefore you can see the medic section for more details. However, firefighters have a comparably lower revival success rate - they will still improve their success rate with higher ranks, but still not to the same level as medics.

Additionally, all firefighters are equipped with a fire extinguisher.

Mechanic
You may not think of mechanics as having the most glamorous job, however you will be kept very busy repairing the vehicles of San Andreas which don't stay pristine for very long at all.

Job Base
All gas stations in San Andreas serve as a job base at which you can become a mechanic.

Name / Blip Color
Mechanics can be identified by their Grey name and blip color.

Abilities and Equipment
Mechanics have the ability to freely enter tow trucks as part of their job, and can even call for a tow truck from anywhere. This can be done by opening up the interaction menu using Y and going into the 'Job Abilities' section.

The following services can be offered to players in order to earn job XP:
- Repairing vehicles, including engines and tires
- Refuelling vehicles
- Removing handcuffs

Prostitute
Sometimes, we all need a bit of something to take our mind off things.

Job Base
All sex shops in San Andreas serve as a job base at which you can become a prostitute.

Name / Blip Color
Prostitutes can be identified by their Pink name and blip color.

Abilities
There are several ways in which you can give interested clients a good time, and earn cash in the process, like:
- Giving on-foot clients a blowjob
- Having sex with clients in a car

In the process, you will constantly be at risk of either catching or giving someone an STD. It is up to you to determine if the risk is worth the reward.

Taxi driver
Lots of people are always needing to get to lots of places, and so there is always lots of demand for lots of taxi drivers!

The job of a taxi driver works significantly differently from any other job. There are no set job bases, and instead you only need to enter a taxi and press the sub-mission key (2 by default) to go on-duty. Press it again to go back off-duty.

As a taxi driver, you will have access to a variety of commands that you will need in order to get fares from point A to point B:
- Type /fare to set your fare prices. This will be the amount of money you earn per kilometre of each journey.
- Type /fares to see a list of any players currently requesting a taxi.
- Type /accept to accept the most recently available fare.
- Type /taxi to open a menu featuring further job-specific options, such as the ability to advertise your services or go off-duty.

You will earn cash for each fare you deliver in addition to your regular payday.

TIP: Hang out around airports and hospitals to pick up fares. These locations are hotspots for players that are new (spawning at airports) and that have just died and need a ride (respawned at hospital).

Job events
When working any of the above jobs, you will be offered random 'job events' twice every day (before and after noon). These can be completed for cash, score, and XP rewards. These job events are generally NPC-based and exist in order to give you more options for things to do while working, as well as to fill in the gaps when there may be little else taking place in regards to other players.

See this topic for a breakdown of job events for each role.

Progression and rewards

Introduction
As you play Mike's Cops and Robbers, you will not only earn cash, but also score points. As you score points you will level up and unlock new items.

Earning score
Score gained is shown on the right-hand side of the radar:

Earning score will come naturally as you play the game. There are countless ways to gain score on MCNR.
  • Get a job and perform job duties
  • Scrap and export vehicles
  • Collect bounties and hunt down most wanted players
  • Complete missions, activities and side-jobs
  • Participate in events such as the Decathlon
  • Unlock achievements
  • Explore San Andreas and find collectables
  • and many more...
Levelling up
Once you have a certain amount of score, you will level up and unlock a new item.

Every time you level up, you will unlock either a skin, weapon or vehicle. The more you level up, the better things you'll unlock.

Note that weapons and vehicles found around the map can be used even if not unlocked. Locking only applies to purchasing these items.

To find out what is unlocked at each level, type /unlocks in-game or check out this Google Sheet complete with images: Google Sheet

Earning and spending money

Introduction
Cash is king in San Andreas. You need cash to buy food, weapons, vehicles, properties and more.

Starting out
When playing for the first time, you can start with up to $2100.
  • $500 starting cash
  • $1,000 for viewing the full introduction tutorial
  • $1,000 for registering
  • $1,000 audio plugin daily bonus (www.mikescnr.com/audio)
You will soon spend this cash however, and be thinking about how to earn more. A good place to start is by completing missions and side-jobs. These are not restricted by player level so can be a good way to gain income at the start. For more information on missions please see this guide. You might also look at selling vehicles at the scrapyard, getting a job (e.g. a mechanic) or rob your way to wealth.

Robbery
Robbery is 50% of what Cops and Robbers is about, and there's plenty of cash to be made this way.
  • Rob players You can rob other players by pressing Y while looking at them and selecting 'Rob' from the player interaction menu.
  • Rob stores: You can rob any store by aiming a gun at the cashier.
  • Rob banks: You can rob a bank like a store by aiming at the bank tellers or head down into the vault for a bigger take.
  • Steal and sell vehicles: Most vehicles you find on the streets can be scrapped or exported for cash. You will be notified if this is the case. See /scrap and /export for more information.
  • Phone missions: Select 'Request job' at any payphone to call 'the contact' and they will assign you a mission such as stealing a car or taking out a target.

Legitimate income
If robbery is just too immoral for you, there are plenty of legitimate risk-free ways of earning some cash.
  • Get a job: Getting a job is one of the best ways to earn money. See this guide for more information.
  • Missions: There are various different missions which can be completed for cash, such as street sweeper and crop dusting. See this this guide for more information.
  • Collectables: There are over 250 hidden collectables all over San Andreas. See /hp (hidden packages) in-game for more information and to purchase hints.
  • Achievements: Check out /achievements in-game for a list of achievements to be completed for cash and score.

Banking
Holding lots of cash on your person makes you more vulnerable to being robbed. Bank your cash at any bank to secure it and keep it safe from robbers.
  • ATMs
ATMs can be found all over San Andreas and provide accessibility to your bank account. You must first set up a 4-digit security PIN at a bank branch. Bear in mind that banks are closed at night so ATMs will need to be used.

Interest, tax and welfare

  • Bank interest
Once you have some money in your bank account, you will start to accrue interest on it. Interest is paid once a week (148 minutes) and is currently 0.25%.
  • Wealth tax
Once you have a high amount of cash in your bank account, you will start to be charged wealth tax. Wealth tax is currently set at 0.5% and is taken every game week (148 minutes).
  • Welfare
If you have less than $1000 in both on-hand cash and banked cash, you will receive welfare every game week (148 minutes). Welfare is currently $500 and given to players with a total worth of less than $1000.

Spending
I'm sure you won't have a problem finding things to spend your money on, however there are some essentials.
  • Weapons: Buy weapons to build your arsenal and defend yourself.
  • Vehicles: Buy vehicles to help you get around and to show off.
  • Garages Buy a garage to store your personal vehicles.
  • Properties: Purchase properties to gain access to vehicle storage, a safe for weapon/ammo storage and invite friends over for fun.

Vehicles & Dealerships

Introduction
Owning your own personal vehicle is a progression milestone in Mike's Cops and Robbers.

Grand theft auto
Before you have the cash to splat out on that convertible sports car you've always dreamed of, you'll have to resort to good old grand theft auto and steal a car.

Vehicles that appear parked around the map must be broken into to unlock them. This is done by repeatedly tapping ENTER/F until the lock is broken and you can enter. Some vehicles spawn with a chance of being left unlocked (the lower the value of the car, the higher chance of it spawning unlocked). Once you enter a vehicle you have broken into you will have to hotwire it (this is done automatically). When you exit a hotwired vehicle, by default, the engine will stay running (unless you keep holding ENTER/F as you exit the vehicle). If the engine does need re-starting when you enter the vehicle again, you will have to hotwire it again.

Breaking into and entering a stolen vehicle with no witnesses around will not result in a crime being committed, however driving past the cops in a stolen vehicle will identify you to them via automatic number plate recognition and you will become wanted. You can prevent this by changing your number plate at any gas station or via a mechanic.

Vehicle storage
There are two types of garages that can be used to store vehicles in: stand-alone garages and property garages.

Stand-alone garages are found in numerous locations around San Andreas and are represented by the icon.

To store a stolen vehicle in a stand-alone garage, simply drive up to the garage door and press Y to store the vehicle. If a vehicle is already in the garage you will be prompted to transfer (if other storage available) or replace it. Vehicles from other garages can be transferred to other garages by this method also (take a vehicle from garage A, drive it to garage B and press Y to store it there).

Garage Locations & Prices
(click to show/hide)

Property garages become available to you once you purchase a property. Most properties have a garage and some even have two, but many have no garage. These garages work identically to stand-alone garages in that you simply drive a vehicle up to them and press Y to store it. When you buy a vehicle at a vehicle dealership you will now have the option to use your property garage as a storage location.

Vehicle dealerships locations
There are various vehicle dealerships located around San Andreas from which you can purchase a vehicle. Some dealerships sell high-end sports cars, sports bikes and high-value cars and some sell low and medium valued cars and bikes.

There are 6 Vehicle dealerships spread around San Andreas.
They are represented on the radar and map by this icon:

You can navigate to closest one by using command /gps vehicle.

Destruction, insurance and impounding
If one of your personal vehicles becomes destroyed, it must be recovered for a fee before using it again. This can be done by retrieving your vehicle from the garage in which it is stored or requesting it via the interaction menu (Press Y). The recovery fee is based on the value of the vehicle and is a flat fee.

If you arrested or die near your vehicle with a wanted level your vehicle will be impounded by the police. You can recover it by visiting any police department reception for a fee.

Fuel
All vehicles with an engine rely on fuel to run. The level of fuel in your vehicle is shown in the bottom-right corner by 10 bars and a percentage display.

When your fuel gets low, you can refuel at any gas station around San Andreas.

There are 22 Gas Stations spread around San Andreas (12 city and 10 countryside)
They are represented on the radar and map by this icon:

You can navigate to closest one by using command /gps gas station.

All locations
(click to show/hide)

Single locations
(click to show/hide)

Repair and modification
Mechanics are able to repair engines, fix tires, refuel your vehicle and change your number plate. Press SUB-MISSION (2) when broken down to call for a mechanic. Alternatively type /mechanic or select 'Request service' from the interaction menu (Press Y). Visit any gas station to change your number plate if no mechanics are available. Mechanics can be identified by their grey name and blip.

To fully repair a vehicle including bodywork and paintwork, visit a Pay 'n' Spray garage which can be identified by the icon on the map/radar.

To modify a vehicle such as adding nitro and changing wheels, visit a modshop. Certain vehicles must be taken to specific modshops. Street cars must be taken to Wheel Arch Angels in Ocean Flats, San Fierro whereas lowriders must be taken to Loco Low Co. in Willowfield, Los Santos.

Selling vehicles
You can sell a vehicle you own at any scrapyard. Type /scrap for more info and navigation.

Guides / Properties
« on: February 15, 2019, 02:02:22 pm »
Properties

Introduction
Once you have some wealth, you can look into purchasing properties. You can own up to three properties anywhere in San Andreas from the trailer parks of Bone County to suburban houses to the extravagant mansions of the Vinewood Hills. You can choose to own one property in each city or have all three in your favorite city. You will still be able to access your properties that are in the inactive city (e.g. if the active city is Los Santos, you can still access your property in San Fierro).

Properties come with a range of features and benefits and having one will be a milestone in your progression.

Property locations
There are over 1500 properties scattered all around San Andreas in rural, suburban and urban areas. These properties come in different shapes, sizes and prices, ranging from around $20,000 for a small trailer in the country to around $250,000 for a mid-sized urban home to over $1,000,000 for a mansion in the Vinewood Hills.

Buying a property
Properties that are for sale are identified in three ways. The most obvious is the big FOR SALE sign out front. The second is that the house icon at the door will change from blue to green. The door label will also state that the property is for sale and for how much.

It is not currently possible to 'search' for a property for sale, however this functionality is planned for a future update.

To buy a property that is for sale, approach the door and press ENTER or F to enter. You will only be able to do this if you have the funds to purchase and if the owner is online if they have disabled 'offline purchases'. By default you can buy a property even if the owner is offline. Once inside the property take a look around and press Y to purchase. If you do not press Y you will be automatically ejected from the property after a period of time and asked if you would like to purchase the property.

Once a property is purchased you will have access to it, access to the vehicle garage(s) if applicable, and able to purchase a safe to store items. Press H to access the house menu where you can invite players, eject visitors, answer the door, change settings, put the property up for sale, and upgrade your property.

Your property will be visible for you on map/radar and it will have this icon.

Property upgrades
Properties can have various upgrades which you can buy from the house menu (press H).

Safe
Purchase a safe to store cash, weapons and ammo. You can store up to $500k in cash, 5 weapons and 5 different types of ammo (pistol, shotgun, smg, AR and rifle).
Costs: $3,500

Door locks
Upgrading door locks makes it harder for criminals to break into your property.
Costs: $2,500

Alarm system
Upgrading your alarm system will alert the cops to a break-in instantly rather than after a short period of time.
Costs: $2,450

Contents insurance
Purchasing contents insurance will enable items stolen from your property to be recovered through insurance for a much lower cost. The insurance fee must be paid daily.
Costs: $24

Property Name
You will now be able to place a custom property name that everyone will see when they are near your house entrance.
Costs: FREE

Vehicle storage
Most properties have vehicle storage in the form of a garage or two. These work exactly the same as the standalone garages you can purchase around San Andreas. Simply drive a vehicle up to them and press Y to store. When purchasing a vehicle from a dealership, this property will now appear as an option for where to store your vehicle.

You can request personal vehicles to be delivered to you by your mechanic through the interaction menu (hold Y).

Property robbery
You can rob a property regardless of whether the owner is online or not (or even if there is no owner). Items can be stolen and sold for cash.

Firstly, ensure you have a vehicle with a trunk/boot nearby to use for transporting the stolen items. Then, approach the door and press LMB/CTRL to break in. Find something worth stealing in the property such as electrical items, jewelry and also see if there is a safe from which the contents can be stolen. Press CROUCH (C) at items to pick them up. Press LMB to drop them anywhere. Head outside and put the items in your previously acquired vehicle trunk by pressing Y to open the trunk then Y again to store the item.

Once you have enough items (i.e. when the cops turn up) get in the driver's seat and get to the hideout to sell the items for cash. You must arrive at the hideout out of sight of the cops. You will retain your wanted level. All players in the vehicle will get an equal split of the payout for selling the stolen items. The weapons and ammo stolen from the safe go to the driver, who can choose which weapons to replace if they already have weapons in those slots.

How to play

Please see the below items for help getting on the server and playing.

Download the SA-MP client
Because https://sa-mp.com is no longer active, we are hosting our own copy of the SA-MP 0.3.7-R5 client here:
https://mikescnr.com/client/sa-mp-0.3.7-R5-1-install.exe

If the above link doesn't work, the download is uploaded and pinned to the #news channel on our Discord server.

Downgrade your GTA:SA game
You need game version 1.0 to play SA-MP.

BETA launch and future plans

After many years of development by myself as a sole developer, Mike's Cops and Robbers is launching as an ongoing BETA with regular updates to add new features and fix any issues that arise. The server is packed with features and activities for all to experience and enjoy and development will be continuous with new features and activities added regularly.

Trailers
http://mikescnr.com/forum/index.php/topic,51.0.html

BETA phase
Launching Mike's Cops and Robbers as an ongoing BETA server is designed to ensure we can identify and fix as many issues as we can with the help of our players. Player feedback is vitally important and valued and reporting issues and submitting suggestions couldn't be easier both in-game and on the forums.

Issues/bug reports
Unfortunately no software is without bugs, and the MCNR script is relatively complex and therefore issues are bound to occur. We strive to identify and fix these as soon as we can, however we need your help! If you spot any sort of issues with the MCNR script, reporting it to us will ensure we are aware of it and can work towards fixing it.

Bugs can be reported in-game using the /bug command, however for more complex issues or reports that would benefit from screenshots or videos to support them, please use the Bug Reports board.

Suggestions
Suggestions from our players are very valuable to us, as our aim is to provide you with the best possible gaming experience. Suggestions of any kind can be posted in the 'Suggestions' section of this forum.

Server overview and features
Don't forget to check out this topic for an overview of the server and features!

Future plans
There are many planned features to be added in the future. These will gradually be implemented in updates to ensure there is always something new to do.

- Inventory system: Players will be able to carry items such as medkits, vehicle repair kits and condoms with an inventory system. Items will be able to be placed into vehicles and property safes, and transferred/sold between players.
- Illegal street racing: A scheduled illegal street race event will occur weekly. Ranking top 3 in this race will yield rewards including cash and score.
- Stadium events: Many stadium-based events are planned, including Sumo, Kickstart, Bloodbowl, Monster Derby, 8-track Racing and Dirtbike racing.
- Other upcoming events include: BASE Jumping, Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch.
- Many new missions and activities, including: mailman, courier, smuggling, Pizzaboy, Romero body collection, news reporter, lawn mowing, golf caddy, combine harvest, commercial pilot, cargo pilot and many more.
- Drugs system: Players will be able to buy, grow and sell drugs for a profit. Different drugs will have different effects, such as temporary health boosts, temporary increased weapon skill and interesting visual effects.
- Fishing: Players will be able to fish from any shoreline, pier or boat. Fish can be sold to stores for a profit. Other items (including some rare valuable items) may also be able to be found.
- Casino heists: To advance on from the bank robbery, players will be able to rob casinos and other high-value establishments such as hotels in teams to make some high-risk high-payout cash.
- Planes, buses and trams: Currently public transport is limited to trains, however buses (inner and outer city and also between cities), planes (between cities) and trams (around San Fierro) will be added.
- Co-op mission support: Many missions have the potential to be co-cooperatively played by multiple players. This functionality will be implemented in the future just like Securicar.
- More job events: There are currently over 10 different random job events for all jobs. More will keep being added to ensure players always have something to do.
- Property features: Health refill, armor storage, inventory item storage, eating and sleeping.
- Property renting: Players will be able to rent out their property to other players. These players will benefit from some of the things owning a property gains you, such as vehicle storage and a spawn point.
- Arms dealer job: The arms dealer job will be added in the future and allow players to sell guns to other players to make a living.

This list is just the start of what we plan to add in upcoming content updates. More ideas will regularly come to light and make their way into the server, ever evolving it and making it even more fun and interesting. Frequent content updates will ensure there is always new quality features and activities to enjoy.

Thank you for being a part of this community, and we hope to see you on the server soon!

- Started to redesign bank robbery to be co-op. Almost finished.

There are many more smaller changes, probably over 500 in fact.

Current focuses:
- House system (selling, garage storage, robbable items)
- Add houses all over San Andreas
- Bank robbery redesign (co-op)
- Mechanic services

I am 100% set on launching the server in 2019. Hopefully the first half of it. Just need to get these handful of core features finished. Before my birthday would be nice (May 28th).

Will try to update this at the end of every month starting next month, reflecting on what I did that past month.

10/07/2018
Update time.

Took a month break at the end of April. Before that I started to work on the event lobby system for the Decathlon. The event lobby system is now finished but the Decathlon is not.

- Development of taxi system progressed nicely, just needs a lot of testing and the ability to split fares for multiple passengers
- Score gain display will now stack
- /settings split into categories
- Many player stats added
- Achievement system added (still adding individual achievements)
- Job paydays added based on job score
- Redesigned mission complete screen with better stats list
- Job rank system now dynamic and can be used for any job
- Made a proper dynamic menu system with item definitions
- Added menus to relevant interiors such as diner
- Replaced GTA menus in fast food places with samp ones
- Fixed issues with intro tutorial camera
- Fixed spawning issues

Current focus is the achievement system and player stats. After that I'm not decided.

03/04/2018
A few months have passed. I feel like I haven't done much..

- The job events for police and paramedics are done.
  - Police: Vehicle chase, vehicle tail, CSI, stolen vehicle moving, stolen vehicle parked, 911 response.
  - Medic: CPR and organ transport.
- Intro tutorial is complete.
- Player stats pretty much done.
- Added Army class.
- Emergency vehicle lights can now be toggled separate from the siren.
- Fixed Mafia Moneybag event not triggering, and now triggers twice a week not once.
- New and returning inactive players are now prompted to reset tutorials.
  - Returning inactive accounts are prompted for a full reset if no password.
- Police rules are now displayed when a player becomes a cop.
- Players with jobs can now call for special vehicles.
- Players now have a chance to randomly spawn inside interiors instead of just outside them (currently just police departments).
- ATMs can now be robbed
- Player vehicle name is now displayed above radar location text, and both have an icon to show which is which.
- Taxi system is nearing completion. Players can go on duty, call for a taxi, select destinations, and complete fares.

At the time of writing, this forum is only accessible to myself. I want to keep a diary for future reference and to track how the progress is going. I feel like this server is more of a personal hobby project than anything with any real purpose anymore. SA-MP is now 14 years old and is getting older with every day that passes. I have no deadline in mind for 'completion', but I want to get the core important features done first and then run the server as a public ongoing beta.

It is now April. I have spent the first 3 month of 2018 mainly focusing on the Job Events. The police and medic ones are done, and I now need to do the Mechanic and Firefighter ones.

Some updates:
- There is now a map shown in the corner during spawn selection which shows the location of the spawn point and also shows where players are around the map.
- The Taxi system is coming along. Destinations can now be chosen and fares can be completed. Just needs finishing and polishing.
- The introduction tutorial is now complete.
- ATMs can now be robbed
- Hospital has a proper menu and allows you to heal/cure there
- Player stats pretty much complete (only need to add crimes and weapon stats)

The main things I'm currently working on:
- Job events
- Taxi system
- Job roles (e.g. Mechanic)

18/01/2018
A new type of event has been added called Job Events. These events happen twice daily (once before noon and once after). Players are given job events such as cops having to tail an NPC or mechanics having to tow a broken down vehicle to a modshop.

17/01/2018

Information / Server Rules & Infraction System
« on: July 27, 2018, 11:24:12 am »

Server rules

As a game server, we want our players to have fun playing the game. To ensure this, we have rules in place which we will always enforce.

The following rules must be followed at all times.
Failure to follow server rules will result in infractions and/or bans being issued, details of which may be found below.

Server Rules

Do not spam or flood chat or features
Spamming/flooding is defined as sending chat messages and/or commands (such as bribe invites) rapidly, repeatedly or unnecessarily. This is disruptive to other players and is not allowed.
The server employs an anti-spam feature which limits players to sending two messages or commands in rapid succession before initiating a small cooldown period until another message or command can be sent.

Players spamming chat messages or commands will be muted, infracted, kicked and potentially banned.

Do not troll, flame, insult, disrespect, harass, defame, impersonate or discriminate other players
Any form of hostility towards other players is outright untolerated. This is a game and should be enjoyable. Note that we take cyber bullying seriously and any cases of bullying will be dealt with accordingly.

Players being hostile or abusive towards other players or staff will be muted, infracted, kicked and/or banned.

Do not use any hacking or cheating programs in any circumstances
Cheating or hacking programs are not allowed in any form. This includes mods (and CLEO mods) which affect other players such as changing running speed animations.

Cheaters will be banned from the server.

Do not use gameplay-affecting modifications
Game modifications are allowed to a certain extent, however any modification which alters what another player experiences is outright disallowed. For example lowering the suspension on a vehicle is not allowed as other players will see the original vehicle model and it will be clipping into the ground.

Do not deathmatch or kill players without reason
While killing is part of GTA, we do not set out to be a deathmatch server and killing other players for no reason is not tolerated.

Valid reasons to kill:
- Self-defence (they are shooting at you)
- You are a cop and they are a most wanted suspect (red).
- You are a cop and they are posing a fatal threat to others (e.g. a yellow player is shooting at other players or aiming at them - you may take them down to preserve life)
- You are a medic/firefighter and are attacked (self-defense is allowed)
- Someone attacked you
- Someone robbed you
- Someone is following/harassing/stalking you
- There may be other reasons - this is just a rough guide

NOT valid reasons to kill:
- They insulted me in chat
- I don't like their name
- I'm bored
- It's fun
- I like deathmatching
- I like killing cops (when you have not committed any crimes)
- Do not teamkill (cop-killing cop) unless in self-defense
- There may be other reasons - this is just a rough guide

Cop Hunting Rule:
killing a cop is not allowed, even if you are most wanted, unless that cop is chasing or attacking you. If a cop is RUNNING AWAY FROM YOU, you should not be attacking them Unless they recently attacked you.
- You may kill them if they oppose a threat to you (kill, arrest, chase /etc)
- You may kill them if they are a group and one of them is attacking you
- You may kill them if they get very close to you
- You may kill them if they camp outside the bank or your house

Deathmatching players can be frozen, jailed, disarmed, have damage disabled, receive infractions, be kicked or even be banned temporarily.

Do not exploit bugs or glitches, either in GTA, SA-MP or this server
Sometimes bugs occur which can give you an advantage over other players. Knowingly exploiting these is not allowed and players will have their illegitimate cash/score removed and received an infraction.

Do not share knowledge of exploitable bugs or glitches. Report them to the relevant parties (SA-MP or server developers).

Do not attempt to avoid situations (e.g. death/arrest) by quitting
Quitting/crashing/screenshotting to avoid situations such as death or arrest is not allowed. For example, do not quit the game while falling from the sky to avoid death or quit just as you're about to be arrested by a cop. We have systems in place to detect this type of cheating and will deduct player cash and score in response.

Players that repeatedly break this rule will receive infractions and may be banned from the server.

Avoid illegal and/or controversial conversation
Do not discuss illegal subjects such as drugs and piracy. Do not engage in heated debates relating to sensitive subjects such as politics and religion.
Discussion of illegal content is prohibited and players will be muted, infracted, kicked or banned.

Breaking these rules will result in appropriate punishment, including jail time or bans from the server.

Punishment is at each admin's discretion based on the severity and reoccurrence of incidents.

If you witness a player breaking any of these rules, please report them using /report.

Let's keep the game fun.

Infraction System
Instead of simply kicking or banning players, we use an infraction system. Accumulate enough points and you will be punished. Here's how it works:

A member of staff can issue you a number of infraction points, based on your offence. Points will expire 6 months from their date of issue.

When a player has accumulated 10 points, they will be banned. Each time this happens, the ban will be for a longer duration.

OffenceBan Duration
11 week
21 month
33 months
46 months
51 year
6Permanent

If you feel you have been infracted wrongly, you can appeal to have the points removed on the forums.

OFFENCES - Here is a list of all the infractions and the maximum points that can be given for said offence, in order of maximum points:

OffenceDescriptionMaximum Points
Cheating/moddingUsing cheating/hacking tools gives players an unfair advantage. This includes airbreak, invulnerability, aimbots etc10
Spamming/floodingSending lots of text in the chat is annoying to other players.2
AdvertisingAdvertising other servers, forums, YouTube channels etc. is not allowed.3
Harassment/flamingHarassing, flaming, attacking or otherwise being offensive to other players.5
DiscriminationDiscrimination of any kind is forbidden.5
Annoying/disruptive behaviourPlayers are just trying to enjoy the game. Annoying them for no reason will be punished.2
Ban Evasion Ban evading will result in a permanent ban from the server.N/A

The number of points given for an infraction lies with the discretion of the admin. They can give you the maximum number of points for that offence or not. Multiple infractions can also be given for a single incident, for example if you spam a message a lot and the message is racially offensive, you will receive two separate infractions; one for the spam and one for the racially offensive remarks. It is the admin's discretion on whether to give you the maximum number of points for both offences.

There are a range of other punishments staff can also use, such as killing, jailing, freezing or muting you. These punishments are separate from the infraction system, however infractions are generally given along with these punishments.

Game Modifications
Certain modifications can cause you to (sometimes unintentionally) have an unfair advantage over other players. For example, if you have a vehicle mod that changes the collision (the 'solid' mesh that surrounds the object to detect collision (e.g. a bullet hitting the car or two vehicles colliding) - basically change the shape) this can cause a major advantage as players may shoot your vehicle but miss because of the different appearances of your vehicles on each client.

Texture modifications are fine as long as it's not something ridiculous like making stuff transparent. For example removing clouds is fine if your computer's performance is an issue.
Sound modifications are 100% fine.
CLEO mods are generally not allowed. If they give you an advantage - they aren't allowed. A mod which makes you fly like superman isn't allowed.
Animation mods are not allowed as they will affect the game's sync.
Editing your vehicle handling is NOT allowed.

DISCRIMINATION
Do not discriminate on:

Gender
Race
Sexual Orientation (Straight/Gay/Bi/Trans)
Religion
Language
etc.

Summary
In summary, please follow the rules at all times and the game will be more fun.

Server overview and features

Introduction
Mike's Cops and Robbers aims to recreate the classic GTA experience of cops chasing criminals into a multiplayer environment. While it is by far not the first to do this, there are many things which make MCNR a great server to play on and you are guaranteed to have fun.

A little bit of history
Mike's Cops and Robbers has been in development for almost a decade. It started off as a small project as mine to practise and improve my coding abilities, however grew into a more serious project that I wanted to finish. Development has always been very slow as I am the sole developer and don't have as much time as I would like to spend developing. The project was shelved twice with long months and even years with no development. Slowly but surely I kept at it and have finally reached the stage where I can share my project with others.

Feature Showcase

10 reasons to play SA-MP and MCNR over GTA Online
GTA Online is without a doubt a great game. MCNR is similar to GTA Online in many ways, however we feel the following reasons make SA-MP and MCNR just as much fun if not more:
  • Less grinding, more fun
  • More solo ways to play and earn cash
  • Relive the nostalgia of GTA: San Andreas
  • Cheaper to buy, free to play
  • Lower computer requirements
  • Good anti-cheat and admins actively monitor the server
  • Bans can be appealed
  • Better community
  • Developers listen to feedback
  • No loading screens

Also remember that playing the role of a cop has never been possible in GTA single player games or GTA online.

New Players
New players are first introduced to the world of San Andreas, its three cities and what they have to offer. An introduction tutorial is shown at the start of the game which will cover all the main features of the server and how they work. It is highly advisable that players watch this, however it can be skipped.

Account Registration
Account registration is not compulsory, and player account information will be saved whether they are registered with a password or not, provider they join again using the same name. However, not registering an account with a password means anyone can play on your account. You can register your name in-game by typing /register.

Score and XP
Players have score and a level, and also job ranks. Player score is gained through various means, for example finding a hidden collectable, killing a player with a bounty or winning a race. Essentially playing the game will allow you to gain points. After you earn so many points, your level will increase, and you will unlock new skins, vehicles, weapons and more.

XP is given in certain jobs when job duties are performed (e.g. a cop arresting someone or a medic reviving someone). Ranking up gives access to more features and lowers restrictions. For example, cops can place more roadblock objects and medics have a higher chance of successfully reviving victim.

Jobs

Police / Law Enforcement
The most important role for a player to undertake in this server is that of an officer of the law. San Andreas is riddled with problems from gang crime and petty theft to organised mafia gangs and major casino heists. It is up to the San Andreas police forces to protect and serve its citizens by bringing the criminals to justice.

You can become a police officer by visiting any police department reception as long as your player level is 10 or higher.

Paramedic
Paramedics are the lifeline for the residents of San Andreas. There's never a shortage of gunshots wounds and a broken bones, so you'd better stock up on medical supplies!

You can become a paramedic at any hospital providing your player level is 5 or higher.

Firefighter
With all the chaos that ensues in San Andreas, someone's got to douse the flames. Put your fire extinguisher to use and stop the flames spreading around the city faster than herpes as a firefighter.

You can become a firefighter at any fire station providing your player level is 5 or higher.

Mechanic
Vehicle crime is at an all time high in San Andreas, and nobody realises this more than those poor mechanics. How many vehicles did you trash on the way to the store, seven? Someone's got to fix them.

You can become a mechanic at any gas station or garage providing your player level is 5 or higher.

Prostitute
When the cops and criminals wind down for the night, someone needs to take care of their needs, why not you? Become a lady of the night at any sex shop and spread those STDs all over the state.

Taxi Driver
What better way for an upstanding citizen of San Andreas to make some steady cash than by taking in the scenery and meeting the wonderful people of San Andreas? Become a Taxi Driver by entering any Taxi and you can find out how it feels to spend all day sat 3 feet away from last night's drunken throw-up still festering on the back seats. Or better yet, meet some real weirdos that'll make you really rethink your life choices and go rob a bank instead.

Crime, Arrests and Jail
Criminality is the core of this server and GTA itself, and while some may choose the quiet life of earning legitimate cash through legal means, others want to take shortcuts and get it all now. From pickpocketing to bank robberies, bounty hunting and drug smuggling, and all the chaos in between, there are plenty of opportunities for criminals to get rich quick.

A player's wanted level is shown as 6 stars at the top of the screen. The more stars that are highlighted, the more trouble you're in and the more force the cops can use against you. These are also coloured to represent three levels of wanted level: level 1 will result in a ticket (yellow), levels 2 through 5 an arrest (orange), and at level 6 (red) the cops are authorised to use lethal force to bring you in by any means necessary. Oh and if you're most wanted, you'd better watch your back, because the bounty hunters of San Andreas will also have you in their sights.

Vehicles and properties
Properties have two purposes in San Andreas. The first is practicality; you can sleep there, eat there and store your guns, cash, drugs and other items there. Then there's the ability to show off.

Achievements
Everyone needs a trophy cabinet, and why not fill it with the bodies of your fellow San Andreans? There are many achievements that can be unlocked through playing the game which will reward you with cash and score.

Player Donations
Our server is entirely reliant on player donations to keep running. If we do not receive enough donations, we will be unable to pay for server/website costs. Player donations are extremely important to us, and because of this, donating players will receive appreciation bonuses in-game. For more information on that and how to donate, please see the topic on donations in this board.
