General / Community Transparency - Overdoz

I would just like to address an issue that has been lingering around within the community for the past couple of days in regards to a recent promotion within the staff team.

The particular player formally went by the name Overdoz , and if you know who they are I need not to explain it any further.

 However I do need to explain my actions, and how these came to the situation where I currently stand.

I am the kind of person where I always believe it's always worthwhile giving someone a chance in an opportunity they would  otherwise never have, regardless of their past however I know the community backlash can come about pretty quickly.

I was happy with the outcome I seen from this individual as a tester, going above and beyond with the current tester team to test reported bugs / features not working properly.

After multiple months had passed, and being fully aware of who he is I wanted to give him the chance at further responsibilities putting him on a probationary period as a moderator.

The community feedback received however far outweighs the reasoning to keep him on as a moderator so effective immediately their assistance as a moderator is no longer required.

Further discussions will be had on whether he will retain a position within the team whether it be as a tester or helper but that discussion is yet to have any outcome.

If you have any questions I will answer them transparently here,  unless you specifically DM me.

I will update you all with more clarity once we determine an outcome -.

**Rule Change** - *Criminals are no longer allowed to randomly kill police to assist other criminals*

Effective immediately we are implementing a new change that will prohibit (stop) criminals from assisting other criminals who are being attacked or otherwise apprehended by law enforcement.  This will only be a minor adjustment to the rules, and there is good reasoning behind this adjustment.

**What does this change mean?**

*This change will mean that when you're roaming the server / cities as a criminal, if you see another criminal being apprehended or attacked by the police you will no longer allowed to help that particular criminal*

**What reasons do I need to attack a police officer?**

*You can attack any law enforcement agent, pending that you have some sort of valid revenge against them*

**Valid revenge reasons to kill a law enforcement, who is attempting to arrest another suspect**

- Claiming revenge (e.g. - you already have pre-existing revenge against the cop).
- The cop has attacked you, or attempting to attack you.
- The cop is attempting to arrest you.
- The cop has issued you with a ticket.
- The cop has asked you to pull over / freeze.
- The cop denies your bribe (you cannot kill a cop if they refuse to bribe you).

**Why do we need this change?**

*This change has been implemented to stop criminals randomly running around killing cops, to who they've no interaction for for the entire gameplay.*

If you are confused about this change, or have any questions please feel free to reach out to anyone within the management team. If there are any changes regarding this rule (e.g. - It gets altered or completely removed there will be an updated post.) So please keep an eye out.

Rejected Suggestions / Cop proximity detection.

Currently upon committing any type of crime whether it's robbery, murder, grand theft auto, or anything in between players are given a wanted level even if no cops were actually around to witness the incident taking place. In scenarios like robbing a 24/7, or any shop that uses an interior the 'clerk' could press the silent alarm or ring the cops after the player leaves the building.  This should give the player 3 stars upon leaving the building.

Yet crimes that happen outside, such as robbing the little food vendors they should gain at minimum 1 star since they've got no way of actually notifying the cops unless other vendor stalls are around the stall you're deciding to rob.  Also brings my next crime - Murder, players who commit murder should not be given a wanted level as high as they do unless cops are present in the vicinity. I'm not sure what the perfect distance radius would be, but becoming most wanted for murdering someone in grove street doesn't make sense when all cops are in SF or even the other side of LS- You should either get away with the murder,  or allow cops to pull over innocent players and perform 'random vehicle searches' where a 'murder weapon' could be found which would give the player a wanted 6 star wanted level.


I'm thinking if there is a cop within 200m to 500m of a player, the player should gain a wanted level as such,  but if the distance is any greater either no wanted level should be given, or minimal level at that.

Events / EVENT PRIZES - Limiting the prize pool & special clothing items!

Hello everyone.

I have decided that some necessary changes be made to how prizes are handed out for admin-hosted events. The prize amount will now be given out at a per-player-basis, meaning the more players in an event the larger the prize pool will become for whoever gets 1st place in that particular event. The prize will be capped at $3000 per player, so if 15 players join an event the maximum prize that can be won will be $45,000 for whoever comes in 1st place.

Events that have multiple winners, the prize will be split evenly between all the winners. Players with large amounts of cash are able to sponsor events, to up the maximum prize pool available  - So if the prize pool is $60,000 a player could sponsor the event bringing the total prize pool up to $120,000 etc. Another prize item that will only occur once per month will be a special clothing item that can only be handed out via special admin-based commands.

If you managed to win an event that has a clothing item as a prize, you could win a rocket launcher clothing item, or special clothing items that cannot be obtained in any other method. Not even through seasonal events!  You would also get the standard base prize as well as the limited edition clothing item.  So while we are doing our best to think of new events,  feel free to post your event ideas! The reason I've decided to make this change, is so that players aren't getting insane amounts of cash for simply dodging a combine harvester, or a plane, etc for 10 minutes.

Clothing items will not be handed out for events that are going to have multiple winners, for these prizes there must only be 1 winner!

Crews / Crew tag addition - Please read.

Any crew owner/leader -


If you guys are annoyed with staff adding crew tags to players who are not in your crew, from now on a leader of the crew MUST reply to this topic informing staff who has recently been added to the crew, and that they need a crew tag added to their name in-game. Staff will no longer be accepting crew tag changes in-game, until this section is properly filled out. This will stop staff accidentally adding crew tags to someone who is not in your crew.

So if Johnny_Sins joins your crew,  you'll need to reply here: Tagging a member of staff, saying the players in-game name and that they need a tag added in-game.

Example:  Johnny_sins has joined K, can you please add our tag to his name @Charlie.

Once charlie has changed the name, and added the tag he will respond to the reply with 'done'.

Approved Suggestions / Police scanner (interceptor)

A police radio interceptor (scanner) - Would be a neat little feature that could be useful for criminals on the server. This feature would allow criminals to intercept communications between cops, with this item being purchasable from the black market (maybe weapon dealers, when they're added). This would mean cops, would need to be very careful on what they say in cop radio, and could also add in a little feature where it allows criminals to see cops on the radar. Even if they're using the cia/fbi/swat skins that have lower visibility.

This item would be a limited item, where it takes 2 - 3 game days for stock to replenish if you're arrested it gets confiscated. Purchase price, could be around $10,000? or depending on what happens response wise to this post, maybe lower... maybe higher.

Just some food for thought.

Hello everyone, it's time for a vote on a possible enhancement for the server.

The area in question is jail.

Should players automatically be released from jail once their sentence is over?

At the moment players have the ability to stay in jail indefinitely. This means if the player has a bounty on them, or there is another player who has revenge against them they can avoid being killed, and have the option to stay in-jail until the city changes, or 1 hour passes.  This is quite stupid in my opinion, and quite frankly it's breaking the rules of avoiding. Players can't quit to avoid, but they can spend 1+ hours in jail to avoid?  Makes logical sense does it not.

You can only vote once, so make sure you vote correctly. The poll will run for 14 days, and the results will show once the 14 days have elapsed.

Once their sentence is up, they should automatically be paroled (bail paid) and released.

There has been the update, on where players can bail other players out of jail and release them... but why should you need to pay for their bail just to kill them? There is no logic there. They should be auto-released where they pay their own bail if they're in jail for 'x time' past the expired time.

Rejected Suggestions / Remove 'Roller skater' skins - ID 92 & 99

Hi @Mike

Please disable the following skin ids - 99 & 92.

These 2 skins give the players who use them an unfair advantage over players who choose to use a regular skin.  The speed at which these 2 skins can move around is a lot quicker than your standard skin where you can only run around.

The roller skates actually provide a bit of a speed boost, to the player is using them allowing them to move around more quickly. 

TL:DR - The skin is shit.

General / Is the lag of MCNR affecting your quality of play?

Hi everyone,

Please respond to this with appropriate comments/feedback in relation to the subject line.


Over the past couple of months (3 - 4 months), there has been an extremely noticeable amount of complaints occurring about lag on the server.  Now Mike has attempted to find solutions, but there are still complaints regarding lag flooding through with quite regular players who are now no longer playing due to the 'terrible' experience they have during their connection whilst on MCNR.  The lag consists of players jittering, jumping around, and straight-up not taking any damage because of the stupendous lag.

I am aware of some players mentioning a server that runs with more modifications, and 100 - 200 players on average often experience less lag on those servers.  Essentially MCNR with 15 - 20 players on it seems like you have 200+ players lagging out the server. Now with the 3rd year anniversary fast approaching I think you lot who have stopped playing need to give your input and feedback about the lag in this post.  All feedback is good,  and I am sure Mike will read every bit of feedback that is given here.

Currently, the server is very imbalanced when it comes to law enforcement and criminals on the server. Many new and old players will constantly play as law enforcement agents due to its extreme advantage over being a criminal.

The biggest advantage cops have over criminals, is the fact when a cop dies they simply respawn with their weapons and no loss of ammunition. To make things a slightly more level playing field, cops should be subject to the same protocol criminals get when they die.

You die as a criminal and get arrested, you'll lose roughly 80% - 90% of the ammunition you had for your weapons. 

This is completely imbalanced, and I believe a few others will agree that some sort of system should be implemented to make it a more level playing field. When a cop dies, they do not lose any weapons or ammunition at all.

Rejected Suggestions / Ability to shoot supply drops in the sky

As of current when you request a supply drop there is a 34.42-second wait, yes it may not seem like much but when you're defending off cops, or in a gang war, 10 seconds is the difference between life and death. I would (if possible) like the ability where we can shoot our supply drops out of the sky to make them fall faster.  You shoot your parachute on the supply drop (or supply crate), and the drop time halves.

When you enter an air vehicle (plane & helicopter) you are given a parachute automatically by the server (GTA SA feature).  It would be interesting, if those parachutes were automatically removed somehow, making it so players had to purchase a parachute at either ammunation or from the airport guard.  It would take money,  and if a player needed to bail out of their plane mid-air,  they'd need to remember whether they actually purchased a parachute or not.

If you purchased one, you'd be safe.  If you forgot to purchase, well.... you're gonna DIE.

Implemented Suggestions / Should players be auto-released from jail?

Currently, players have the ability to stay in jail for an indefinite amount of time. Players who do this are able to avoid being killed by those who are seeking revenge against them.
Therefore I believe players should be automatically released from jail after a specific amount of time, to avoid being able to camp inside the jail cells to avoid being killed.
Since players are currently not automatically released, this makes jail an exploitable area of the server. - Purposefully get arrested, once you're in jail you cannot be killed.

If you do not get paroled, accept a bribe, or release yourself from jail. You should automatically pay the minimum bail amount, where you're released. If you've gone afk/idle whilst in jail, that is your own fault and you should be expected to get robbed and/or killed once released.

Implemented Suggestions / Pilots Licence.

A few updates ago, Mike introduced 'personal aircraft' - now unfortunately it is not possible for players to gain access to their personal aircraft without getting a wanted level (the only way in is to aim/shoot the guard).  So I'd like to propose the introduction of a 'Pilots Licence' .

Where to purchase a pilots licence -

You're able to purchase a licence from the guard by approaching them, and pressing 'Y' - to interact with them.

Cost -

The cost of the licence will be $10000 (cost can be thought about)

Purpose:

Having a pilots licence will allow you to access your personal aircraft without needing to gain a wanted level.

I think this would be a cool perk/feature if we could make use of on the server.  Allow players to enter the hot air balloon at the airport (active city only) for a small fee ($50 is nothing) You are given a tour over the active city, where you gracefully float over the 'points of interest' of that city, you are given a parachute so you can jump out if you wish, or the balloon will land back where it took off (they don't do this irl). This could also be added in as an achievement 'Hot air tours' - Giving players more to do, achievement wise.

Only if possible.

If not, move to rejected suggestions.

Implemented Suggestions / Bounty Hunter - please read.

Placing bounties (hit contracts) to get someone killed in real life is highly illegal (you can be imprisoned for doing such a thing if you're caught). So I propose, if you place a bounty on someone you get given a wanted level (2 stars if no cops are around, and 4 stars if there is a cop in range of your point) This will make players a bit more cautious when placing bounties on players.

Furthermore to add, if you're arrested by a cop the bounty contract you placed will be "removed" and you will not get your cashback (maybe a percentage of the total bounty cost, like 5%) This will make placing hits a little more interesting, adding on to this exact same "enhancement" I'd like to see a bounty hunter job added (go on duty at the payphone) there is a limited amount of payphones (you can only go on duty in the inactive city) as being a bounty hunter is illegal (it's illegal to kill someone IRL), as soon as you enter the active city you're placed under "watch" and given a 2 star wanted level. If the contract is removed by an admin, a full refund will be granted - Minus a small fee.

You accept bounty contracts at the payphones (only available now to bounty hunters), when a bounty hunter accepts a contract, they're given a limited amount of time to carry out the killing of the bountied player (city change). If a bounty hunter is caught by the police, when they're attempting to kill a bounty, they will get jailed and will be unable to go on duty as a bounty hunter for 1 day (24 minutes).

You'll see in-game: "A bounty contract has been placed on Mike (37) , there you head to a payphone to accept it.


Whoever accepts the contract will get the payout of the contract. The same way arresting works, if another bounty hunter is in range of you at the time, they will get a small helping bonus.

Fixed Bugs / Donator bug - Invalid command

Hi there,

I would like to point out a bug within the donation system when donating to the server. The in-game rewards vary; one of the rewards for donating is $10,000 in-game cash for every $5GBP that is donated to the server.

When I first donated I did $60 (GBP) and received $120,000 total, the second time I donated $20 (GBP) I should have only received $40,000 but instead, I got $200,000 I believe this is adding the first donation amount and the second donation amounts together and rewarding as you've just donated that total amount in one payment, not separate donations.

I should have only gotten $120,000 for my first donation, $40,000 for my second donation. Adding those 2 together still only would have yielded me $160,000 but I think I got a bonus $40,000 on top of the already existing money.


Another bug is 2 commands that you are meant to receive as a reward for donating (/joinmsg and /leavemsg) inputting these commands in-game you are notified that they are invalid commands and do not work for there intended purpose at this current time. Was this feature removed? Or has it not been implemented yet.
