you can't force people to play something they don't want, they'll simply leave and play something else.

the only thing that -might- balance things out is making rewards drastically lower/higher depending on the cop-criminal ratio. So if there's 1 cop online bank robberies, vigilante bonus and everything criminal related (criminal, not civilian) shouldn't give you more than like 1k - the same you get for a few minutes of trucking since both of these are risk free events in that certain period of time. This might make people switch over to cops since cops would get a huge bonus on arresting/killing criminals. Imagine getting 10k for a single arrest cos you're the only cop in town. Might actually be a decent way to lowkey force people switch sides..not really force but more like bribe them to switch. If its been suggested already just ignore it, i haven't really checked.

You might even include making ammunations cheaper to those 3 cops/civilians on the server, and more expensive to the other side. Again this would take a lot of testing and tweaking to actually balance things out but it might be worth it.

In my opinion that would make the whole point of placing a bounty useless.
how so? everything would be exactly the same.

Perhaps he placed a bounty on you because he couldn't kill you and you kept killing him instead.
that's a logical move for those who aren't good at fights yet want to get someone punished for their actions..however, that doesn't mean they're suddenly untouchable. Since they are the reason for the whole server chasing me I can kill them. And considering bounty doesn't get canceled after i kill the bounty placer the whole server is still chasing. Which pretty much allows me to DM the shit out him until bounty expires. I can get 30kills in a row if i'm fast enough. Don't you think there's something wrong in that? This isn't what CnR is supposed to be about, and that's why this needs to be fixed.

If you want a middle ground I would say killing the bountyplacer should decrease the bounty on you by 50%
that would again make players kill you over and over and over again until they get to $1 reward and it stops being "worthy". This again isn't what CnR is supposed to be about.

you can already spawn a vehicle, even after it blows up..giving cops yet another spawn command would be even more ridiculous than it is now (gta isnt even a thing on this server)

as for "cops should be driving cop cars", well not really..not unless you remove all the fast vehicles from the game and that clearly won't happen.

also stop comparing everything with real life..this is a video game, wake up.

every criminal on the server is driving an infernus or a cheetah, it's only fair that cops do the same (and they do, cos after a bit of grinding you can finally afford one to keep permanently). I mean sure we can't drop spikes from our personal infernus but that still isn't enough of a reason to use a slow ass lvpd car instead.
The whole personal vehicle spawning thing is what makes every free car on the road (including pd garage) useless and there's really no way to "balance" it now.

before you start insulting people and comparing them to monkeys (nice attitude from an admin btw) you may want to re-think what you're about to say..

the bugs are fixed in the latest update, okay, but how do you know which version someone has? bugged ones are still up there free to download and anyone can abuse the shit out of it. Most of you (including admins) don't even know what happens at certain points since no one bothered testing it. I can go on and on and on about this, since i actually did mess around with this thing for a while, but i feel like i'm talking to a wall..i even tried few weeks ago, to some admin (i dont really remember the name but i recall he was quick on insults when i explained to him how frame limiter works cos he had no idea) and all he could say was "crashes is allowed and i havent had any issues with mine".

Actually let's get into the "crashes is allowed" topic you mentioned. It states using crashes.asi is allowed as long as you have frame limiter option set to OFF. What does that mean? Frame limiter stops working the moment you install crashes and set unlocker from 0 to 1. So is this a mispell? Did the OP actually mean that it's allowed as long as unlocker is set to OFF, since in that case it would make sense and people would actually use it for what it's intended for (based on the name) - fixing crashes. Probably not since 90% of community has over 100fps, right?

I've had a chat with m3e6 about this some time ago, and of course he's reasonable guy and said he wouldn't struggle with making a decision if someone actually did get caught using a bugged version (not taking damage for example), since it is indeed their fault for installing the mod.
However, I've also talked to a few admins here, and most of them can't see past "crashes is allowed". Some of them are even recommending it to people which is ridiculous. How will you be able to punish someone if it's you who told him to get it? You either don't know the flaws of this mod (which is a good reason why you shouldn't even talk about it) or you're just stupid.

Bottom line is, you're all publicly talking about using this, which made 90% of players download it. Mike's 130fps kick script to prevent abuse went from that (preventing abuse) to being able to abuse it to a certain point. Of course, no one (from the ones using it) agrees on manipulating fps to get advantage in fights is actually abuse but yeah..

As for the original point of this topic, you dont get more mods to remove lag. You remove the ones you have.

haven't really seen anyone abuse it nor did i test it myself, but if you're a cop and a suspect kills you in let's say fort carson, you checking where he's headed and teleporting in that direction (bayside for example) clearly isn't fair and should be fixed.

I don't see why sniper is different than other weapons..having it like this encourages DM and we already have enough of that already (since you need to provoke a fight). I agree that you should just add it to ammunation so we can "train" it just like everything else. One-shot kills are no longer a thing with sniper so I don't really see why not. (?)

Removing revenge kills makes zero sense. What are you supposed to do when someone robs you? Do you really expect us to place a hit and hope there's a hitman online who's gonna choose your hit? What happens when the dude places a hit back on you and you end up dying cos hitman chose to go after you instead of him? Why should you waste more cash on that guy  (since placing bounty means you giving away cash) when you can do it yourself for free? I'm pretty confident this won't ever happen.

As for hitman job itself, I assume Mike didn't want to copy x other servers so he gave everyone a chance to complete the hit which is (imo) a good thing. Swapping jobs for every single thing you wanna do would be annoying and i'd prefer for it to stay like this. Imagine yourself having to go somewhere to change job just so you can complete a trucking mission or catch a fish. It's just an extra step and I'm actually glad I don't have to do it with bounties.

Being unable to place a bounty on a hitman after he killed you is also a terrible idea. Compare it to a cop arresting you.
You lose stuff because of someone's actions = you're allowed to take revenge. Doesn't matter if it's his job or he just did it cos he can. I'm pretty confident this won't change either.

I like the RPish thing with telephone and don't really see the point of changing it. Pretty sure doing a command would be easier to script in the first place so this was obviously intended.

I don't agree with self defense = no wanted level cos it's pretty much impossible to script (there are ways to harm someone without the game recognizing it). Other than that this would take away work from the cops + cops are supposed to preserve lives even if it means killing the shooter and changing that won't be possible with your (sasino's) suggestion. We already have enough rules changing every few weeks (which is a bad thing).

Side missions for killing NPCs is fine i guess, but i dont really see this as a priority nor something anyone would actually enjoy doing (more than once or twice). Hunting actual people is clearly more fun and challenging.

I don't see how "escaping 5 attacks" can be scripted, and even if it is possible it would surely be buggy af (something wont get recognized and you'd get screwed over even if you did indeed survive 5 attacks) so this isn't really something I'd want to see..

Sorry for the mixed order, wanted to make this short at the beggining but ended up touching all your lines. Bottom line is, I'm happy with what we have right now and i don't think we need to complicate things out with this..the only crappy thing about bounties now is that you can't cancel one on you but I already made a topic about it.

back when we had hydra here it was a shitfest..a single rocket would blow up both the fleeing suspect and the cop behind him who's trying to catch up..it simply doesn't work on this server, not just cos of the rules but cos it ruins the chases and chases are what CnR is (supposed to be) all about..same goes for tank and other similar vehicles/aircrafts which blow you up with a single hit.

cops can already use rustlers and helis so we really dont need the "army job" thing

as for minigun, i'll just say lol

MCNR logo above clearly states that this server is still in beta development, and you know what usually happens with your progress once a game gets out of beta, right? You're all here playing on an unfinished product that is constantly getting tweaks and updates. That means the amount of cash you get from something today isn't necessarily going to be the same next week. Updates happen every few weeks and most of them bring us new features. Those new features unfortunately come in with bugs and possible exploits. All of you probably heard about one or two which made some players rich or get high scores (and those are just the ones that got public). You can only imagine how many of those happened before you even came here.

Mike said the reset isn't coming soon. That likely means it won't happen up until he adds everything he wants to add and balances things out. Ya'll here crying how it's unfair to lose everything you worked for, but how about the new players that came today and earn less cash from bank robberies than you did? How about those people who didn't get an extra 1mil for reaching lvl 100 (again) after the reset to lvl90 happened? It's super clear that reset is needed, but only after everything is balanced, so it can actually fix things..

I thought this was already a thing but guess not..the suggestion would be to remove bounty from you once you kill the person who placed it.

Why? Well first of, because otherwise I'd have a good reason to kill the bounty placer over and over again without him doing anything to me. Why? Because he's responsible for every player hunting me down. Right now, even after I kill the placer, I don't really get anything from it since I'm still in the same trouble and everyone is still chasing me - meaning i still have a damn good reason to kill the bounty placer again.

If you want an RPish reason, who's gonna pay the hitmen if the person who placed the bounty is already dead? Of course this would mean the bounty should be canceled on his death even if it isn't related to me, which may still be a decent suggestion, i'll leave you to decide..

If however you find the first one better (me being the killer) please make it so if he dies near you, bounty gets removed..because someone might take the last shot and steal the kill (meaning you'd have to go and kill him again even though you assisted in killing him in the first place, which would be DM, i guess), or maybe the game won't recognize you killing him (like shooting a car on fire and killing the driver trying to get out doesn't get recognized).

It made no sense back when i started playing, but I got used to it, just like everyone else. I don't think it's a good idea to be changing things so often. It's not reaĺly a big deal either imo, since not a lot of people are doing it. Sure you can kill someone, but people usually have better things to do. There's always more cops hunting mw players than there are "vigilantes" and as long as it stays that way I don't think we really need any changes.

Does this feature push server further away from the CnR gameplay and closer to the DM one? Maybe, but more killing means more criminals to chase and that's a good thing, right? As long as it's not excessive of course, but this thing really ain't from what I see.

I honestly doubt this "pushes players away" any more than getting DMed without even having a wanted level, which is also a pretty common thing here.

we already have "corrupted cops" accepting bribes..sure, you can't accept a bribe from a guy who just killed someone but you can do it for some other player (both inside and outside of jail) which is more than enough "corruption" we need in here.

As for assisting them in robberies, it goes completely against the rules so i don't really see it happening.

Exactly, it's GTA. You're supposed to be able to hijack cars without any issues. The "victim" can then kill you, or a place a bounty on you and then later on the cops are chasing the killer. It's CnR, we don't need so many RP elements here, especially not this one, since you're able to spawn and fix vehicles unlimited amount of times for barely any cost, along with hundreds of free (not personal) cars waiting for you all around SA.

It already takes a good while to steal a car, we definitely don't need this. Game should be made harder not easier, cos where's the thrill in playing if you're safe all the time?

allowing people to share their bug abuse skill videos while at the same time punishing people for it doesn't work.

Put two and two together..it's just a matter of time when someone is going to say that he saw this video and that he thought it's allowed since admins didn't do anything (but did comment therefore saw the video). It's just another "justification" that will be used and you won't be able to do anything about it, since you decided to allow this. Later on people will catch up to that certain complaint where you had to" let the cbugger go", and will start doing the same. It's an infinite loop that will surely happen in case you don't do something about it.

In case you haven't already figured it out, players do that. They will try and hurt you for every mistake you do, and they will use these kind of opportunities for themselves, whether it's to get out of trouble or to cause one.

Not entirely sure if this is supposed to go in the bugs/glitches section, if so, move it there.

I've only encountered this with the few trucks I drove but there are probably some other (longer) vehicles as well that have the same issue. As you can see on the screenshots, I cannot reach the red circle (checkpoint), so I can't get the menu window popped and fix my vehicle..Not every xoomer has this problem, but here are 2 (3 if you count the montgomery one, since my truck is too high to get inside) which I came across today..

The suggestion would be to move the checkpoints few meters back so we can use it without any issues..OR, if that's too much work, add a command or something which would pop the window if we're standing close to the checkpoint. Again, there might be some more gas stations with the same issue, I haven't really tested a lot of them out.

there are already bunch of armor pickups around along with dozen of ammunations so this isn't needed at all..also, medics have nothing to do with armor so this doesn't even make sense.

Weapon/arms dealer job is already planned and it's more than likely that he'll be able to sell it.

no matter how much you increase the rewards (unless you add another zero at the end), bank will always be the thing people go for (until another major robbery spot comes out).
