Title: Accept/Decline revival
Post by: Ardealul on December 10, 2023, 05:25:16 pm
Offer revival and the player has to accept or decline it. Another way around this should be to cancel a revival attempt when a user does it to you.

considering how it has to gamble on you living or dying, instant +1 without a doubt

This is a good idea, I like it.

Having such an option is exactly like a medic, a mechanic, or a prostitute offering a service to someone instead of offering something without asking.

This suggestion makes little sense to me. Why would you want to do this, and how does it make sense for you to literally by dying, but have the strength to make someone _not_ try to help you?

People don't like when I revive them after they step on my decoy (They die)

Nah but really, I'd rather trust myself and use my medkit rather than rely on non guaranteed revival chance (It's like 49% for me as a cop)

It would have not made sense if the revival rate was 100%. Imagine you are knocked, about to use medkit and a player with 10% revival rate tries reviving you and you end up dying and get jailed. You can't even take revenge on that player and you end up jailed

Using medikit on yourself while dying also does not make sense. You're dying, you should not be able to move but you're reviving yourself. It's the same, you're still dying but you are able to move and use it. It does not have to make sense since it's not a rp server. It's really annyoing when you can save your life and a 10% revival rate civ comes and tries to revive you and you end up dying or dying and jailed when you could just use mk to save yourself.

About the 'not try to help you' argument.
There are 2 cases when people try to revive you:
1) old player is trolling you cause he knows you will probably die and you won't be able to save yourself using medikit
2) new player that does not know he will kill you
This is not really help, it's just trolling you or lacking game knowledge.

A 10% revive rate is too low, even 50% as a cop is too low. The other option would be as beaten said, to make the revive rate 100% so people won't troll us by reviving.

Edited:
Another option would also be the revive success rate should also be used while reviving yourself but i think players would hate this. I know I would.

I would add to this, when the accept decline dialog is there, or the chat message, depends on what implementation you want for this, to also be albe to see the revive rate of the person who offers

Mike doesn't know how painful the server is... It's the reason I want Mike to play for an hour each week.
