Hello there,

I have been working on a new system for determining bank robbery payouts.

  • At the start of the game week, the vault starts out with a certain amount of money that is randomized, between 10-20k. This money, in the event of a robbery, is split between the 12 bags that spawn in the vault.
  • Each game day at 5:30 am, the amount of money in the vault will multiply by 2 to 4 times its then-current value. A message is shown in chat informing you the bank had more money delivered and it will show the current value of the vault.
  • A successful robbery will result in the vault money being reset back to its original 10-20k starting amount.

  • The maximum vault value is capped at 400k, which, divided by 12 bags, equals out to about 25k per bag (could be more or less depending upon cop:civ ratio)
  • The whole point being to get people off the bank and doing other jobs for a period of time before building up to the bank robbery every few game days ideally.
  • You can still rob the bank at any time, 3 times a day if you wish - but the payout will be drastically less than what you would get if you had waited.
  • The value in each cash bag is also weighted on the cop:civ ratio, 99% cops online would result in a 150% payout on the bags value. 0 cops online would be 75%.
  • Exploding the vault reduces the total value of the vault by 25%.

A large reason why the economy is so messed up right now and people have piles of cash laying around is directly due to the bank paying out too much money.

I ran the numbers on 25k, and if you wait 48 game hours (2 days) the payout should be around 800 dollars per minute, which is inline with other jobs currently.

I'm looking to gather some feedback on this from players - does the robbery amount need to be increased before this update goes out? reduced? Discuss below.

I actually really like this proposal. This would *hopefully* fix the issue of the bank being robbed every day, whilst it can still be done.

What I think you should compare is what if we had 2x the multiplier, bank spawns with 20k at the start of the week and then compare this:
- Robbing once per two days
- Robbing on cooldown

How does the outcome compare, maybe it'll be just as good to rob with less cash, but more frequently then to wait the two days, completely negating the use of this proposed idea.

Another part I would touch on is the cop:civ ratio. You mention that the bags value would be only 75% if there are 0 cops, but I really think you should out right make it so if there are not X cops online (let's say 4 or 5) that you can't rob the bank at all. Because it doesn't really matter if there's little cash, if there's no resistance, even that little cash will get camped.
Whilst situations of there almost being no cops has drastically reduced, it'll still happen from time to time.

Other then that, it's a good idea.

On another note that I'd like to ask you, is when do you plan to implement this? From what I got, it's going to come out as a regular update. There was also talk about a cash & score reset, what's up with that? Because the bank isn't the only thing that needs to be re-aligned. If you're going to re-do the cash on the bank, might as well go over everything that gives cash. That's store robberies, cop job of various types, the civ jobs and everything else I didn't mention. Besides that also the places you spend money need a re-doing. The unlock system should be also re-done.

Cop job xp and paycheck has been buffed in this next update I believe, cash bags inside the bank will be able to get recovered by the cops (unless they are down in the vault area - there is a technical limitation preventing me from allowing you to pick them up in that area). The recover amount will likely become a percentage of the bags value.

I thought of the robbing more frequently being more profitable issue, which is why the starting amount in the vault is so low, to keep it from being more profitable.

Will look into blocking bank rob if there is not enough officers online... but then that prevents the ability to make money at all "illegally" when the other type of robberies suck balls still, Might have to delay this one until other things have been rebalanced appropriately.

Perfect way to make people stay away from bank, but there must be other things to do except cop jobs only, probs more mission or another heist, would make it perfect.

That's why I'm asking, will this be just a regular small update that changes bank around or will you do a full reset which will include changes to all the ways money goes IN and OUT of the server? Besides that as I said, stuff like level unlocks and what not need to be re-balanced, it's bs right now kind of.

This will probably be something that rolls out in 2.0, theres too many bug fixes that are very important in 1.9 to lob this in with those.

+1, I guess they shouldn't be able to rob the next game day when they already robbed one day, this way, newbies or other players will also stand a chance to rob it.
 
They will just wait outside and waiting for peoples with bags coming out, then proceed to kill them.
I think this will occur in the start, but people will get used to the cooldown.

the cool down would be  for the robbery not for entering bank so that means if you rob it today ex, monday  14:36 you would be able to rob it next time on tuesday 6:36 and you can kill other players with mb but u cant pick up the mb while cooldown.

+1, I guess they shouldn't be able to rob the next game day when they already robbed one day, this way, newbies or other players will also stand a chance to rob it.

That idea could really discourage people from robbing the bank every possible turn. But I think bank (and the future casino) should be actually harder to do. 

Like, instead of nerfing that much the money that it awards, "make them fucking hard" like Solid once said. (dont take me wrong, a system like that is a must in my opinion, but I think you could nerf the cash less and make the heist itself more dangerous).

Right now, they are very easy to do if you are in a group of 8 crims. Get in, see that vault guard being shred to a pile of guts by gunfire, hack the vault, get a bag, run out, see the few cops that arrived be either gunned down, or not being able to catch the crims dashing to their cars, escaping in the fastest cars and in groups so cops cant catch you, reach hideout and repeat. The biggest danger right now is not being enought bags for everyone and someone murdering others to get their bags. 

What I suggest is adding more layers of security. These are some suggestins: Add 1 or 2 security doors (one is the metar bar strutcute near the vault area entry and the other is the door on top of the stairs) that can be picked/hacked or blasted. This will slow down people and make it so you have to either hack them (which would take a while) or you can blast them (but the vault lockdown sequence would begin and cops would be notified. So its a choice between safety or speed.

You could also add more guards. Right now the guy at the vault area with the pistol just gets annihilated by the criminals. So I tought why not add more guards? And better equipped? Add like 4-6 guards (with player healt) armed with M4s or MP5 behind the pillars of the vault area. Also, I thought when players pick a bag and the alarm activates, why not spawn another 6 NPC guards heavly armed at the staff section of the bank, make them run to the hall and take positions to blast off the crims exiting the stairs room (if all that isnt feasable, then just spawn them already in the hall).

Im pretty sure a group of skilled players can go throught these without much of an issue, but i think it would be much harder that what is right now and take more time. Some people will say that this is hardcore, but you are robbing a bank, it shouldnt be that fucking easy and shouldnt only take a couple of minutes to do. Should take time and efford to do.

I think this would be kinda pointless tbh people will rob the bank as soon as they are able to. This is just asking for bugs to be introduced and wasting development time.
